Hey guys,

So for the DAT score reports to be sent to schools, you can indicate the schools you want your scores sent to for free at the time of application.

From the ADA website:
"If the schools you requested participate in a standardized application service, e.g., the Associated American Dental Schools Application Service (AADSAS) or the Texas Medical and Dental Schools Application Service (TMDSAS), the scores will be available to the schools directly and through the application service. The fee for Dental schools not selected at the time of application is $25 per report."

So doesn't it make sense to just select a large number of schools at the time of the application so you don't have to pay the $25 per school later? Because even if you decide not to apply to that school, who cares if they have your score. Is there something I'm missing here?

That seems to be the consensus on here. Just go crazy checking the boxes. I didn't just select them all. But I did select quite a few I was even remotely considering at the time (this was 9 months ago).

Yes, check ALL the boxes...even if it's Canada (you never know). However, I just realized that new schools like LECOM and UNE aren't on there....soo, here goes another $25 for each of those if you applied.

I applied to LECOM. Anyone know how to send DAT scores to them separately since I didn't have the option to select them when I signed up for the DAT?

Shouldn't LECOM be able to view your DAT scores from your AADSAS application?

I would HOPE so...but if that were the case, why would we have to designate which schools we send our scores to when we apply for a DENTPIN/test-date. 😕

Well thats new. When I applied, it was free for like 5 schools. 3 of the 5 I selected at the time I didn't even end up applying to....

LECOM accepts AADSAS as official scores. Honestly, I'd assume the school accepts AADSAS unless they explicitly tell you at some point that you need to send them scores. I have yet to have a school request them.

Just check off every single box. That's what I did as well as a bunch of my classmates.

I think I signed up for my DAT in March...and it could be that they weren't on the list (I looked for them, and didn't see them.) I knew for sure I'd be applying there because it's in my home town. I can't imagine that I'd miss them, but then again, that list is huge. Either way, I checked ALL the boxes.

Just in case, I'm going to call LECOM to double-check. 👍

They weren't on the list around that time. I had them on my radar as I knew they were opening their doors and it would be easier to gain admission there. I remember thinking it will cost me an extra $50 to apply to these two schools.

I presume you signed up for your DAT at a later date, so they were on the list for you.

I already received emails and filled out the supplementary app. for LECOM, but haven't heard anything else about sending them DAT scores.

No they weren't. I signed up back in March too and was disappointed that I woud have to spend extra at a later date because they weren't on the list.

Something on their website or an email they sent explicitly says they accept AADSAS DAT scores.
