I was going to take the DAT sometime in the middle of July but I feel like I need more time because I'm also taking biochemistry and a nutrition class right now so I'm not getting the time I wanted to study for the DAT.. Is August 3rd too late to take it???🙁

LOL, Not sure if that works. Many places are closed on Sat and Sun, their DAT results probably won't get sent until the following Mon (= Aug, yay!)

AUgust is fine as long as yo have sent in your aadsas application early. AADSAS take 4-6 weeks to send your app to schools so by the time that happens you would have done your DAT in AUg....right on time. And schools will often take your unofficial DAT scores (faxed copy of the report you got) until they receive the original. AUgust is good.👍🙂 i am taking in august too...hopefully...seems like the more i study ..the more i feel i dont know enough and need to study more n more. LOL😳

AADSAS already sent my applications. How long does it take for schools to get official DAT scores? I'm taking DAT Aug 4 and am concerned if it takes weeks. I don't think schools will send invites for interviews without official DAT scores, even if I fax the unofficial report.

It'd be great to hear from someone who has been through this before.
Thanks.

Here's the thing. No one who is taking the DAT in Aug will tell you it's late to take the DAT in Aug. However, you must bear in mind that everything is relative.
You're considered a late applicant relative to those applicants who have already sent out their complete application (including their official DAT scores) to their designated schools.
However, you will be considered an early applicant relative to those who will be taking the DAT after you.
So, it really depends on how many people have completed their application before you and how many will be doing so, after you.
Therefore, it's really pointless to stress about whether or not you're late, because you don't really know how other applicants are proceeding with their applications.

Good Luck👍

How profound. I'm not stressing, I'm just asking how long it takes for official DAT scores to be sent. The website says up to 4 weeks, and I'm wondering if it's usually less than that. AADSAS says it can take weeks to verify GPA, and mine has been verified and sent already. Just wondering.

Sorry! But I wasn't responding to your post, when I said "don't stress out."

right, because everything is relative, I called up few schools that I'm particularly interested in (that's right, just few schools, not all the DS in the whole nation) and they all said "sooner the better", well of course, common sense!!!

But they also said that mid Aug should be fine, no later then Aug. I believe they know what they're talking about.

Like I said, it's pointless to stress out about topics like these, when you have something as important as your DAT coming up. Even if it is late (which according to you it's not), what can you do about it?! Go back in time and take it in May?

not according to me, according to what I was told by those adcomm

And you're right on the point that taking it in Aug is later than taking it in May.
