Hey,
To all of those that have already taken the DAT, did you find that there were any questions regarding hormones, or basically endocrinology stuff? Your help is greatly appreciated.

I'm only one person and I had taken the DAT only once, so I can't speak for all instances.

But to answer your question, I personally encountered about 2 questions on endocrines. If your required bio courses don't cover endocrinology ( I believe that most intro courses don't ), then you're going to have to take the initiative to study it on your own using DAT review books and bio textbooks.

I think the endocrinology review in the Kaplan book is sufficient. Even if you've never seen the stuff before, you should be all right just memorizing the hormones and pathways listed.

Pay careful attention to the menstrual cycle. I've heard that everybody gets a question on that.

Endocrinology is a favorite of the DAT. Master the female menstruation cycle know the role of FSH, LH, Progesterone, Estrogen

Know hormone antagonists: e.g. glucagon (raises blood sugar) vs. insulin (decreases blood sugar)

Know all the hormones secreted in the anterior pituitary and posterior pituitary.

However be ready for everything.

Listen to who is talking. It's Desi again. He's telling us to Master the Female Menstrual Cycle. LOL:laugh:
