Hey guys. So I'm ready to register for the DATs for the first time on January 17, 2012. Here is the information from the ADA about the dates:

http://www.ada.org/sections/educationAndCareers/pdfs/dat_notice_closure.pdf

So my question is under "Score Processing" it says the following: Tests taken January 3, 2012 to January 29, 2012 – No official score processing will occur

^^ What does this mean? I hear that new questions and other DAT questions will be changed around and introduced... MOST importantly will I be affected?

I have heard of such speculation from several peers. I am assuming they must introduce new questions or change question syntax once a year. My main question however is :

under "Score Processing" it says the following: Tests taken January 3, 2012 to January 29, 2012 – No official score processing will occur

^^What does this mean.

I am taking my test in that window. What I think it means is that you will get your unofficial score right after the test but your official score will take longer than normal to be reported....it will be some time after Jan 29.

Check out wizi's thread. Everything you need to know is there. I called the ADA today and asked them. Sacapunta's is right. Also, the style of question they ask and the test itself is not changing (besides when they change they questions every 3 months).

I sent an email to them a couple weeks back and here was the response I got.

In regards to official scoring you will receive an unofficial copy of your score at the testing center. Your official scores will not be sent to the schools you have selected until after the system closure.

In regards to sending scores you are correct. You will not be able to request additional score reports from January 20-30. Unless you are sending score reports to schools that are not listed in Appendix D of the DAT guide you can add as many schools from that appendix to your DAT application for no charge prior to your test date.

Note: the "you are correct" is referring to the question I asked in the email.
