Hello,
Have never posted here but have used many of your tips to help prepare for the exam. Thanks a lot to those who contribute! I decided to try to repay the favor and tell about my experience. I'm pretty satisfied with my scores (except for GC 😕)
PAT: 21
QR: 30
RC: 21
Biology: 20
GC: 19
OC: 27
Science Average: 21
Academic average : 23
To prepare, I used KBB, the free quizzes on DATqault, a few of Chad's videos for ochem, Baron's AP, and various practice problems I found browsing online.
For QR, I tutored a HS student in Algrebra 2 and Trig last year. If you have the time, find a book at the library that can help you review these topics, as I found they covered everything I ran across in QR.
OC: Rather than memorizing, try to actually understand how/what reactions occur. Spend the most time understanding the basic principles, such as elimination/ addition/ substitution/ electrophilicity patterns etc.. Once you have a fundamental understanding of the principles, you can apply them to various reactions.
RC: I tried the search/ destroy method that some of you have sworn by and just couldn't use it well. Reading the entire passage and maybe jotting a word or 2 down for each paragraph's subject seemed to work best for me.
Bio: So many random questions. The majority of questions were straightforward and pretty simple. However, a few random questions appeared involving rather obscure ecological terms that I hadn't encountered in any of my practices. Oh well....
Feel free to ask any particular questions!
