Hi all I just took my DAT today and wanted to share what worked for me because I found these threads to be very helpful for me. Hopefully this can relieve a little bit of stress for some of you guys.
Background:
- 3rd year senior
- 4.0 gpa
- 3 months preparation
- English 2nd language
Prep:
This wasn't extremely thorough, but I'm happy to answer any questions. Last notes:
- If you can, don't work or take a full schedule of classes during your studying
- You're going to have to make sacrifices... I studied approximately 4-6 hours a day with 1 day off every week
- Get a good night's sleep and make sure you have visited the testing center beforehand (and arrive early)

- Although I did not experiment with Booster, I cannot imagine there is a better resource out there. The user interface is perfect, you have everything all on one screen; I found it really helpful that I could ask questions and get responses within 24 hours. The practice tests were probably the biggest pro, and I would strongly recommend reading through the explanations for each question thoroughly. Dr. Mike's videos are perfect, this is all you need for chem/ochem sections. I would recommend reading the long version of the bio notes and using the "bio bites" frequently for active recall. *Side note* I started reading through the shorter bio notes 2 weeks before purchasing bootcamp to become familiar with the content before diving into the detailed notes (I strongly recommend it especially if you think you might need longer than 3 months to study).
- Destroyer (math/bio) - 9/10
- This resource is for sure harder than most if not everything you'll see on the DAT. However, the best part about the bio is that you have 700+ questions that will cover a broad scope of all the content. So it forces you to recall a topic that you may have forgotten about; this is something you should be weary of if you only use bootcamp (remember to go over 'bio bites' and MARK your questions so you know what to focus on when you go back). I would also suggest not to start with this resource, so make sure you have covered all the chapters on bootcamp before doing practice problems in Destroyer. The math section was super helpful, I would recommend taking as many of those practice tests that you can; the explanations for each question are sufficient for the most part. I dabbled with the chem section too, and it was helpful, but definitely more challenging than the DAT.
