so I took the DAT in ky on aug 1st and got a score of a 19. I know it's not the greatest score, but it's the avg score needed for avg. accepted people instate. I probably spent a month and half studying but actually more like a month of studying and half a month of stalling lol. I'll break down how i studied bc the SDN really helped me get resources and ideas.
PERCEPTUAL: 19
QR: 21
RC: 20
TOTAL SCIENCE: 19
BIO: 18 🙁
GEN CHEM: 20
ORGANIC 18 :/

Perceptual:
I just studied crack DAT online. The tests helped ALOT. The keyhole, cube counting, TFE, hole punching, were a lot easier on the real DAT than on crack. However I always struggled on angle and pattern folding so I just went with my gut feeling on that. On DAT angle's were slightly easier. I was scoring anywhere from 16-20 on practice exams and got 19 on real. I used the kaplan bb to help me understand cube counting, and hole punching methods which really helped.
QR: I used crack DAT ONLINE, and found it a lot harder than real DAT. I've always been good at math. honestly just do the crack DAT online test and maybe do the dat destroyer math problems if your weak at it that's what i did.
Gen Chem: I got A's in undergrad and got 20 on DAT. I honestly used princeton review book skimmed it, and dat DESTROYER all the problems like twice. Right down the formula's bc that's what always stumped me. basically memorize the formula's lol.
Organic: OMG I sucked at this undergrad barely pulled a B in 1 and 2 lol. I basically just memorized the notes that included reactions and rules I made in undergrad, I'd just finished the courses so it was still fresh in my memory. I was hoping for a 17 so at least i got an 18 lol.
Biology: I'm very disappointed in this score. I wasn't to sure how to study for it. I read Feralis' notes like 3 times, and was doing amazing on the crack dat bio exams so idk what happened. On the DAT the questions were more thinking and critical than just flat of memorizing which i was hoping for. I even read Kaplan biology but found it disorganized. Feralis' notes are plain amazing. I just was extremely nervous I even have gotten A's in majority of my bio classes so who knows what happened. lol
RC: omg don't use crack dat reading for this do a few but it's way harder than real thing. lol on the real test literally don't even read the passages just skim for the question and find it. The questions and answers are literally word for word you don't even have to understand the passage. crack dat actually made me do worse on the DAT bc i read the 1st passage in full and completely wasted time.
overall use crack dat computer tests the software is very similar to how DAT really is. At the test center bring a license and passport. use feralis notes, kaplan bb, princeton dat book, destroyer and crack dat. but if you're low on budget jut get crack dat, destroyer, feralis' notes (free) , and princeton. Kaplan's bb was a tad waste of money and time it was a lot easier compared to princton.
Also, I just finished sophomore year. I may retake it in christmas break but not made up my mind yet. At least I know how to study for it now lol. Does anyone know how to apply and get into the HSPH scholarship i think it's called or the rural scholarship loan repayment thing? I was thinking either navy or airforce but wasn't sure. Is it really competitive, and when and how do I apply. Any advice? what gpa and dat scored did most people who got the scholarship get?
I have a 19 on the dat, 3.5 science, and 3.7 overall. I've only finished my sophomore year though. lol
