i posted my scores up earlier but never did a break down
BIO- The most RANDOM questions ever. Bacteria names i've never even heard of . I went through Kaplan, Barrons AP Bio, DAT destroyer, and Cliffs DAT. I spent the most time studying bio and got the lowest score on it. They just ask you craazy random questions
Gen Chem- General chemistry was never my forte, so i'm not surprised with my score. they gave me about 50% problems i had to solve mathematically (mole conversions, titration, neutralization, etc etc) and the other half was concept based (conj acid bases, chromatography etc). DAT destroyer is AWESOME for this and Cliffs AP chemistry gives you great review!
Orgo- DAT DESTROYER is the BEST for this. If you know the destroyer well, you'll do great on this section. most of my questions were reactions (x + y = what) and some were identifying the type of reaction. i also had 2 NMR questions. when HNMR and CNMR. But yeah, DAT destroyer and my Organic textbook to review the reactions were great for this.
I had about 15 minutes left over on the sciences.
PAT- Crackdat PAT, (the 10 test one) was awesome preparation for this. The cubes, hole punches, and angles were a lot harder on cdp than on the real exam for me. My DAT TFE was RIDICULOUSLY hard. On CDP I was getting 15/15 but I think I didnt know more than half of the TFE on my real exam. The pattern folding was hard as usual. Practice w CDP and youll be fine. I had about 3 or 4 minutes left on the PAT.
Reading- it was exactly like topscore. Topscore gives you the most accurate type of questions Id say. My top score grades were around the same as my actual DAT score. The first passage I got was about herbal medicine. It was pretty straight forward, you couldve used the SnD method, but I feel like that takes up a lot of time. So I just read the passage and I write down about 5/6 words that will help me remember what was in each paragraph. That helped A LOT with time and everything. The next passage I got was about antibiotics. This questions for this one were half tone, half just find it in the paragraph. Again, I used the same method as above. The last paragraph I had was about bone fractures. That was pretty simple also, no tone questions.
QR- DAT destroyer is really helpful for this. I honestly dont know how I pulled off a 20 (94 percentile). I was only getting 17s on topscore, but I guess I got lucky. I have no idea. Just do problems. I skipped problems I didnt know bc theres such a short amount of time. I was able to go back to all of those.
Oh and I used DAT achiever probably the biggest waste of money and biggest confidence killer. I bought the 5 test..i didnt even look at the last 2 tests. A waste Id say.
Hope this is helpful.
