I have done a bit of research and I found an app for android that uses the same calculator as the DAT does. You can find it in the app store or check here https://play.google.com/store/apps/...=W251bGwsMSwyLDEsImFwcG15cGhvbmUud2luY2FsYyJd
It is the same calculator with the same functions and looks so you can get practice before you go in. If you have taken the test and the calculator looks different make sure to let me know. I am taking their information on calculators from the following ADA page (scroll to the very bottom) http://www.ada.org/sections/educationAndCareers/pdfs/dat_examinee_guide.pdf

Good Luck!

Sorry, but your app is irrelevant. The calculator on the DAT is the same as the default calculator on any Windows computer. One can get good practice for the QR section by using the mouse to input commands into that default calculator.

p.s. I didn't click on the links, because I don't want any viruses or anything like that.. =_=

FALSE: Windows 7 has a different calculator than the official one used on the DAT, plus I assume that the calculator on and mac is different as well. The calculator is helpful for the times when you are taking practice tests in paper form not computer form. For those that don't have a laptop and want to take the exam in private in seems like a good choice.I have used it as my daily calculator to get me used to the way this one works. As for the link I can assure you it is legit. If you are worried about the link then just go to google play and search "windows calculator" and as for the ADA website it wouldn't be the first link on this forum to that site. But hey thanks for your input.....

good find !!

hey ya... i also heard DAT calculator is diff from Windows basic calculator program and I also heard that it sometimes lags during the test??

Relax OP or can I call you Mr. correctagon? 😛

I was thinking about Windows XP and Vista calculators which are the same as the DAT calc... sorry I'm just a young kid still using older versions of Windows =)

I looked at the Windows 7 calc... that one line of command input history would really mess up the person on the DAT if s/he were to get used to that function, so you're right on that. The best thing one can do in that case is to block that part out with another window I guess. (you might nitpick me some more on how the MS, MR buttons are positioned differently, etc... but it's okay)

MAC basic calculators are also essentially the same as the DAT calculator.

People "that don't have a laptop and want to take the exam in private" would most likely be studying at their house or school/public library where they have access to desktop computers. They can simulate the DAT really well at those places by using the mouse to input commands.. not by using a phone app.

I still don't trust random links =)

CONCLUSION: The app is still irrelevant for people who want to simulate a true computerized testing experience for the DAT QR.

Thanks for trying to help out though.

I wrote my DAT in Dec. 2011, and the calculator worked just fine. I did not experience any lag time when I clicked on the calc buttons. I only got a 21 on QR, but I can assure you that it's not due to the calculator.. maybe it's due to my right brain being more dominant 😱.

The calculator on test was pretty easy for me to use. It's similar to the Kaplan online one if you have Kaplan online course materials.
