DAT Calculator functions

You can only use the calculator for Quantitative Reasoning. So the answer to your question is no. I don't think the calculator had log or ln, not sure though.
It only has addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. You should know how to do the other calculations without a calculator. And Saiph is right, you only get the calculator on the QR section.

You won't need it for electrochem or hess' law. You'll have to memorize logs for 1-9 for pKa questions.
You don't really need it for QR, but if you're low on energy by the time you start qr, it makes it so you don't have to do as much work in terms of calculations. Only +. -, * and /. I don't think it has any memory functions, sq root. Its also pretty slow and only registers mouse clicks (so no keyboard entries count)

If you can't imagine doing it without a calc, and they don't give you a calc, its safe to say they won't require you to calculate it.
They may set it up for you where you have to pick ex:
(2.10)-((0.8*273)/((2*965000)(ln2))
or whatever the case may be (I actually had this equation as a question, but then they set up the answers).

No nernst equation questions show up usually. Even if they do they'll likely leave the answer like in parentheses where they set it up but don't expect you to solve it all the way out.

Mine did not have a calculator for Gen Chem.
Are you saying that yours did?
I also don't think mine had a sq rt function for QR, but I never needed one.
Strange, my buddy that took the DAT last year said that he had a calculator for gen chem as well. I wonder if they either give you a calculator for gen chem and questions that require a calculator or they don't give you one but then they don't give you questions that need one.
I never felt like I needed one for GC.
