I got a question I know it has been asked numerous time, but I just took my DAT and is mad worry. When I read the ADA guide to dental school, I see most school said that they want the DAT to be 18, does that mean 18 in each section or AA is 18? I got a bio 17 chem 17 org 19, TS 17, AA 18. Does that make the cut off? I gonna retake but there some school with the deadline of Dec 1 to submit everything, so that mean I won't make it in time to some school so at least I want to know will they at least consider me at all.

Every program has different requirements. Some have cutoffs per section and I would say most have AA cutoff. If you gpa is high you should get some interviews granted the rest of your application is strong. For the schools that have Dec 1 cutoffs you need to contact them directly. Most schools if you say your re-taking will not consider your application complete until the most recent DAT scores have been received.

There are a few schools that require a minimum score on each sec. Example, Indiana minimum 15 each sec, U.O.F. minimum 15 or 16. I got a 14 on the reading (crap I know) but did well on other sec and have a nice gpa. This got me 6 interviews 3 rejections and 9 undecided so far. If you have a nice gpa you will be fine. It's all about early applications.
