Hello SDN users!

I am planing to re take my DAT but I don't know when to book my test.
I am going to apply not current but next cycle.
I really want to apply for first batch so in order to be in the first batch, when should I book the DAT?

I will be able to study right after my final exam in April 30-ish.
(So I will study the whole May I guess..)

In this case, when should I book the DAT?
(Early June or Late May?)

Thanks in advance🙂

I would recommend studying Biology right now. Just read through your notes and textbook. And hopefully by the time you start studying on May. You don't have to worry about Biology section.

Also give yourself about four to five months to study... maybe 90 days if you know your materials.

One thing that helped me the second time studying, was to ease into the study mode. During breaks or light school loads times, I looked over my anatomy notes. Nothing major, just enough to become familiar with the material. In the long run, it helped once I got more serious.

Most people take 2 to 3 months to study. Plan for that. Also plan that sending the scores will take 3 to 4 weeks after you take the exam. If you want first batch, take the exam as quickly and comfortably as you can.

I will definitely study biology over the winter break and look at it whenever there are no major work from school.
Thanks, again!

The thing is I am Canadian so my winter break is about two weeks.
So the only time that I will get completely free time will be during May.
I was gonna plan to take DAT in Early June but then i was worried that my application will become considered as 'late' one..

Anyways, thank you for your suggestions🙂

Either date is fine, your application would be mailed out 1st batch anyway and if your DAT scores are somehow not in by that time then it would go out in the 2nd batch.

Thanks a lot for your feedback!
I will take it in early June, then since it will give me more time to study🙂

Oh super groovy. Are you planning on taking the Canadian or American DAT?
That is the one downside to the application process. Taking the test in September will put you behind. A lot. First time I took my DAT, I was rushed by my parents and employer. Because of that, I felt my score suffered and resulted in rejections across the board. It is all about feeling comfortable and having the confidence of doing well on the exam. You will not walk into the DAT and score 30's on everything; one or more questions will fall through the crack. If that means that you take the exam a little later in the summer, then so be it. Have the application done and submitted and focus back on studying.

I am going to take American DAT.
I guess I will take it in Early June, then!
(I think I will be more prepared by then..)

Anyways, thanks a lot for your suggestions!
