Which process is common to both aerobic and anaerobic organisms?

A) Krebs cycle
B) Fermentation
C) Glycolysis
D) ETC
E) All of these

Destroyer says the answer is C. But how the heck is it not B also. We are aerobic organisms and undergo lactic acid fermentation?????

The only way the answer is C is if the question says which process is common to both aerobic and anaerobic CONDITIONS? Then yeah it is glycolysis.

I selected fermentation for that question, too. I mean glycolysis isn't wrong, but, technically, neither is fermentation.

Eh...Glycolysis is still the best answer. We may sometimes use fermentation, but both aerobic and anaerobic always use glycolysis as a starting point.

Also, you have to consider strict aerobes. They can't perform fermentation and thus die in anaerobic conditions.

Ha. It is a tricky questions. However, during each test we must always choose the best answer. The best answer is glycolysis because it is always used by all organisms. Hope this helps.
