DAT Destroyer or Crack the DAT for my current situation

Hi, I'm going to be a second year undergrad student. I've finished with my gen chem I and II, and will be taking orgo I and II in the upcoming fall & spring semesters. I'm planning on taking the DAT next spring/summer, and I wanted to get a head start studying for it this summer. For the summer, I just want to start with one DAT prep book/material, because it's pricey and I can buy the other one later in the fall. Would you recommend Crack the DAT or DAT Destroyer? Also, which packages would you recommend? Is getting the ultimate package compared to the regular bundle (and spending $100 more) worth it? Thanks.

Destroyer is AMAZING. The questions are set up to test you, but also teach you the information. Go through destroyer front to back, over and over again, and the real test will seem like CAKE. I finished the natural science section with 20 minutes to spare.

I don't think DAT Destroyer is the ONLY thing you should use to study and review, but it should DEFINITELY be a part of your study materials.

I'd go on amazon and get a Kaplan blue book (KBB) from 07 for CHEAP along with Cliffs AP BIO (both for under $20 total). Read them both thoroughly (1 chapter in each every week).

Go ahead and buy CRACK DAT PAT (CDP) and do problems once a month for now. Get the Destroyer when you have more money and have taken organic.

And read the SDN DAT forum.

I wouldn't do the PAT 1 year before the DAT. PAT is one of those sections where a good 1-2 months before the DAT is enough.

If your itching for some DAT fun... Get the DAT destroyer + MATH destroyer combo (its only $50 more with MATH des.) OR... if your broke, you can get them used off of ebay.

Since you just finished Geneal chem, you can do the GC problems of destroyer this summer, it'll keep GC fresh. Also, MATH destroyer is an excellent resource for the QR problems you'll encounter on the DAT.... The more time you spend on math destroyer, the more likely you'll do well on this section.

you won't know until you sit down and do a test.

download the free 2007 ADA DAT test, and just do the QR problems. give yourself 45 minutes to do the 40 problems and see how you do

Yeah the math isn't hard at all, just do enough practice problems and get your timing down. It's not about what difficulty of math you can handle, but your ability to see a problem and know instantly how to set it up.
