Hi guys,

I have a question about number 3 in the 2014 Organic Chemistry DAT Destroyer. It talks about monobrominated compounds. What topic would that fall under in Organic Chemistry so I can review it more thoroughly?

Hi guys,

It would be under radical reactions.

Make sure you are clear on the fact that bromine is HIGHLY selective.....and how to predict the major product. Also.....make sure you understand that chlorine is less selective and more reactive. Thus, chlorinated products should be written out, and be able to sort through any stereoisomers.

Hope this helps..
