OK, I've been studying for the DAT since AUG. and I read that KAPLAN BOOK like four times and ordered the TOP SCORE software and toke the practice exams, which did help.

I toke the DAT yesterday and I didnt do as well as I thought, esp. with all that darn studying. so where did I go wrong!!! The DAT was overwhelming, and the BIO. section was nothing comparable to the KAPLAN material and the TOPSCORE exams, the questions werent spread out like I thought they would be... AND the ANGEL RANKING ON THE PAT WAS SO CONFUSING,And I just feel like all that studying went to waste.... but I shouldnt feel like that, but I really dont know what to do???? I would really appreciate the advice. SHOULD I DO THE KAPLAN COURSE? ANY HELPFUL suggestions are really appreciated.

Kaplan course rocks. I studied by myself for six months, and I did horrible. After I took Kaplan course, and really studied the materials that they gave me, I did much much better.

Kaplan course is worth the investment. I heard that sometimes the teachers that they have can suck, but you have to still study several hours per day, and make sure to do all the homeworks, and all the optional material, that is the only way to get prepared for DAT. Besides kaplan course helps bc they give you practice exams that are computer based, and not on paper, which really helps on your real test.

My advice is save your money and DO NOT take the Kaplan Course. Buy DAT Destroyer and DAT Achiever, keep studying the Kaplan Blue Book. I can provide you with old Kaplan subject tests which will also help you.

By far the best thing you can buy for the sciences is DAT Destroyer. Buy it from Dr. Romano at www.Orgoman.com so you can have access to ask Dr. Romano questions.

I have to agree with Lifeisgood. Stick to Kaplan book for fundamentals...order achiever for PAT and reading comp...and definitely order DAT Destroyer which will totally prepare you for the sciences on the DAT.

some people do well with just the kaplan's book but that's cause they usually have a strong science background. I have a bio background but I sitll have to study from textbooks in addition to the guides. Use the guide for what it is, a guide and read more about the subjects it covered in text books. Make sure you understand concepts and not just memorizing things. That's because in order to understand concepts you have to know things. That's my main advice.

I personally find KAplan classroom to be useless, but I study well by myself. some people need structure so if that's what you need, invest in the class. It's a smalll price to pay for a rewarding career and bright future.

While I have no doubt that DAT destroyer is totally awsome (thats why I bought it 😀 ) I think you need to give a little warning what it entails for those who dont know. You have like a 7.0 GPA so Destroyer questions to you are probably like the eaiser questions for those with a weaker science background. You need a good background first in the stubjects in order to move on to destroyer questions...and Destroyer will put you over the top and really brings everything together (from what I understand)

I agree that a good background in the sciences helps very much when using the Destroyer, however, I too was owned by a majority of the questions. Definitely not for the faint of heart....but with enough perseverance, I believe it will help anyone that uses it.

I agree. Kaplan Blue Book serves as a guide only. If it makes you feel better though, then just take the online course. Or get the exams from a friend.
