First of all, I would like to say thank you to all SDNers.
I am officailly done with my DAT, and I feel very happy right now.
I have been studying for 2 months almost 10-12 hours/day, 6 days/week.

Here is my breakdown,

PA : 30 100% 🙂👍
QR : 24 99.0%
RC : 20 64.3% 😡👎
BO : 21 92.3%
GC : 24 97.7%
OC : 27 98.7%
TS : 23 97.8%
AA : 23 98.7%

BO: I used datQvault, Cliffs AP Bio, Barron's AP Bio, Kaplan Course, DAT destroyer bio section. This subject was so broad and very specific. At the first turn, I marked almost 10 questions because those questions were impossible to answer with my knowlege. So I did educated guess on each problem and I think almost half of my educated guess lead me to the correct answer. I really recommend datQvault for the bio section in terms of randomness.

GC: Chad, DAT destryoer, Kaplan Course. For this section, kaplan was not worth it. After finishing with Kaplan course, I just stick with Chad and Destroyer for 2 months or so. And there were no hard problem. Calculation was easy and problems were much easier than destryoer.

OC: Same as GC. Chad, DAT destryoer, Kaplan Course. Nothing really hard here also. I just memorized all the reaction and stuffs on top of my head.

PA: Crack DAT PAT. This section was the easiest section. I bought the royal flush edition and practice hole punching, angle ranking, cube counting everyday before I start studying. I did 8 practice tests and here is the breakdown.

RC: Topsocre, Achiever, Kaplan online. Okay this section was the hardest section. Since English is my second language, I always had a problem with RC section. I averaged 12-14 when I was doing achiever, and 18-19 for Topscore. Since most of the methods that was mentioned on SDN didn't work, I just read the entire passage first, then solved the question. I don't know how I got 20 because this was the highest score that I got in this section.

QR: Math Destroyer, Kaplan online. Know all conversion!! STRONGLY recommend!! I had 3 problems that had to do with unit conversion but I memorized none!! guess what!! I think those problems are the one that I missed. Here is my breakdown of math destroyer.

Contratz!!! You got great scores.

Do you mind sharing what conversions are important? I have not found any source that lists important conversions.

Thanks!

Nice job!!!.. Congrats.... Yes you will get in as long as your not to weird during your interview..

Wow, nice scores dude! Especially the PAT! Never saw such a high PAT.

I am an international student too, with stats that are lower than yours.
You don't need to apply to 20 schools. Probably just 10 top private and out of state friendly schools. Aim for the Ivys and UC schools, you'll get some interviews for sure, as long as the rest of the application is decent.

I got something like that have to relate oz to kg and oz to gallon or something

like that. Nothing really hard. I can only think of

2.54 cm = 1 inch
12 inch = 1 foot
3 foot = 1 yard
1760 yard = 1 mile
1 mile = 1.6 km

There are the things that I can think of right now but definitely know

how to convert oz to kg

Contratz!!! You got great scores.

Good job. Time to work on your social/interview skills and you're good to go!

i saw that you used topscore achiever and kaplan practice tests, which ones do you think were most representative of the test? i only have 1 more topscore test left and a lot of kaplan left do you think kaplan is a good enough representative to use or i should i buy achiever?

amazing scores btw!!! you should be soo happy!!

congrats......amazing scores........seriously 30 in PAT.....what is your strategy for keyholes and pattern folding?

YoonS can I please please please ask for an extensive PAT breakdown because I have never seen a 30 on the PAT and you got it. For a dental student that is like the ultimate dream and dental schools will just be wet with that score. Like what kind of practice materials did you use other than CDP? What worked best for you? (Techniques)

Hailing your PAT score. I am not worthy.

I think Topscore best represents the real DAT. And I think the test #3 was really close to my real score. For bio I really recommend datQvault, and I think Kaplan is good but I did not really use kaplan book. For GC and OC I only used Chad and Destroyer.

I seriously do not know how I managed to get 30 on PAT section. I don't have any strategy. I think I can visualize object in 3D very well. For pattern folding I just fold the paper in my head......and see if there is one that matches... sorry can't really help you here

so kaplan practice tests are okish since i have a while and need more practice test (entire practice tests not just sections)

Here is a picture of my score

Thanks everyone!

If you have any further questions PM me!

Congrats..hopefully I get those score my goal is to get a 27 as my AA and a 30 on the PAT as well.

Congrats! You beasted the PAT! Simply amazing. Second best set of scores I've seen on here! Probably the best out of all the people you'll interview with 😉

I used Kaplan and CDP. Basically everyday, I solved about 20~30 questions of cube counting, hole punching, and angle ranking (2degree). The weakest part was angle ranking but since I practiced with 2 degree, I was able to aim 13/15. TFE, Keyhole, and pattern folding were way easier than CDP

WOW. that's all i can say.

How did you study for the PAT?

Is it really possible to get 30 on PAT??? I never saw a person with 30 on PAT

YoonS got 30 PAT.
YoonSandra got excited.

This is after posters told YoonS not to dwell on the scores.

Coincidence? maybe.

I agree. Those are some crazy scores. You have a high GPA from a really good university to boot!

Apply to 10: LA, SF, UOP, Harvard, Columbia, UPenn, Michigan with Western, NYU, and BU as back up. You're set.

Congratulations!!! Good job

Would you say the pattern folding, hole punching and angle ranking questions on Crack the PAT are harder than the ones on the actual DAT or have about the same level of complexity???

Hey YOONS, I had a question regarding your PAT score and how you approached it. Were you naturally able to visualize each object (hole punching, TFEs, etc. EXCEPT ANGLE RANKING) when you first started out or did you have to use most of the techniques that other people used like counting lines or something? A lot of people have said they struggled on the PAT when they first started studying for it, however, for some reason... I'm picking it up really easily just by visualization and it's kind of fun (??). I don't know any techniques yet... I just visualize it and it becomes super easy. I haven't started studying for the DAT at all but was curious about the PAT so I found a sample question bank. It only contains holepunching and TFE's, however. I did it and I thought it was pretty easy (could just be easy problems).. I solved them by visualizing and elimination obvious wrong answers, and ended up not get a single question wrong. This is the first time I've ever done more than 1 PAT question at time (I looked up a few on google, previously, because I was curious). Cube counting seems easy and I've done one or two pattern folding ones (visually). Are we in the same boat regarding the approach? I'm just good at visualizing things really well (esp. orgo and orgo structures). It's weird...
