I took my third DAT. I would like to thank this forum for helping me very much through my DAT exam.

Here are my results:

PAT: 23 (96.4%)
BIO: 21 (92.3%)
CHEM: 23 (95.4%)
ORGO: 25 (95.8%)
QR: 30 (100%)
READING: 18 (38%)
TS: 22 (95.6%)
AA: 23 (98.7%)

1st DAT (07/20/09)
PAT: 21
BIO: 18
CHEM: 19
ORGO: 21
QR: 22
READING: 17
TS: 20
AA: 19

2nd DAT (10/09)
PAT:20
Bio:20
CHEM:24
ORGO:19
QR:25
Reading:16
TS:20
AA:21

I have GPA of 2.9 cumulative GPA and 2.75science GPA. I am going to 1 year Science Masters grogram this Fall. Do you think I have chance of getting into dental school if I get 3.7-3.8 GPA in Masters?

Here's my breakdown:
PAT: I would recommend Kaplan and Topscore. Studying Achiever actually brought my PAT score down in my 2nd DAT, believe it or not
Bio: I would say just study as much as you can because Biology covers huge amount of topics and requires a lot of memorization. I would recommend watching video if you have hard time reading the book because you are falling asleep.
Chem: Chad and Destroyer is enough. I would recommend doing it multiple times rather than studying 2 additional materials
ORGO: Chad and Destroyer!
Quantitative Reasoning: I would recommend Math Destroyer very strongly! I had one question that I would not have known if I have never solved Math Destroyer.

With each successive test, what did you do after the 1st test? Did you go back review your notes or mainly do practice problems? what long did you study for each test? What was the main thing you think you did that helped you improve each time?

After 1st DAT, I found about chad chem and orgo and that helped a lot for my second and third DAT. Biology is just investing lots of time for studying. I did Cliff Bio after 1st DAT and it sure helped alot. Overall, I would say the most important thing that helped me to improve my score is that "you need to study the materials more than once or twice". whether it is set of questions or just review book. Make sure to go over it multiple times.
I would say 2 months (8 hours/5 days a week) is sufficient time. However, for people who lacks science knowledge like me, I would recommend studying 3 months

Congrats on you score!! thanx for your great advice cuz i'm retaking my DAT for the 2nd time. I have the same GPA like you and was wondering how do you get in the Masters Science Program for a year.

There is one year program at UMDNJ in New Jersey, Johns Hopkins University in Maryland, one in Creighton, Temple University I think. Thats all I can think of right now. Most of the Masters programs are 2 years though.
