Yeah sure:
Well what happened was I took the Kaplan DAT course over the summer and studied a little bit but not enough to take the Test So I postponed to January. I was suppost to try to study during the course of my fall quarter but that didn't work out too well because it was really hard to manage my courses and the DAT. When it came to my winter break I hardly remember most of the info especially ochem. I studied over the course of my winter break.... 3 weeks as well as an additional week and a half during my winter quarter. I put a lot of hours in over the course of the three weeks and stayed really focus... my life revolved around studying for this test (worst process.... get it over with as soon as possible)
I really think the fact that i studied for the test in such a short period of time really worked to my benefit.
Study materials
Bio: I went through the kaplan blue book while simultaneously adding additional notes from cliff notes AP bio book as well as notes from the the Kaplan online workshops. I also took all the subject tests online and took notes on whatever I didn't know or whatever I got wrong. I went through bio only once but I was lucky because I had just taken a physiology course fall quarter so learning some of the information came really easy.
GCHEM and OCHEM: The only material I used for gchem was the kaplan blue book and the the kaplan online material.
For Bio, Gchem, and Ochem.... I did DAT Destroyer in a about 5-6 days. I went through questions did them and once again took notes in my destroyer book on information I didn't know.
PAT : Crack Dat PAT...... Real DAT was A LOT harder when it came to the keyholes and Top-Front-End
RC: I didn't really study for this section
QR: I went through some of the Kaplan workshops. I didn't do all of them and my practice in QR was minimal....shows since I got a 17
Days before the Test: About 4 days before the test all i did was go over all the notes I took in Destroyer and my old practice tests on Kaplan. I really thought I was gonna get a 19 on the test because thats the score I was getting on all my practice tests. The day before I tried to study but I was WAY too nervous so i stopped I went out for sushi with some friends and came up and slept. When I woke up the day of the test I was suprisingly relaxed. I acted like it was a completely normal day and my thought going into the test was "If I do good awesome, if I don't this is my first time taking it I can just take it again".
I'm still in shock today but it feels amazing to be done with this test. GL
