Hey guys. This website has been invaluable to me and I wanted to give back by posting my breakdown. I hope it helps ! I started studying in June but got too distracted with vacations (esp. because I just graduated undergrad). I started hardcore studying in october so all in all 2 full months of studying. I also work 3 days a week at a dental office so I wasn't JUST studying.
My Breakdown:
PAT: 18
QR: 16
RC: 21
BIO: 20
GC: 22
OC:23
TS: 21
AA: 20
Background info: I graduated with a BS in May and have a 3.4 GPA with about a 3.2 science GPA. It is a little low because I got C+'s in orgo but I'm hoping my A in biochem and my DAT score will help balance that out.
PAT: Bootcamp (10/10) This is all I used and honestly, I could have done better but I didn't spend as much time as I should have with this section so I'm satisfied with an 18. DAT was a little easier than bootcamp (I was scoring 17 consecutively on BC).
QR: I have always sucked at math. I studied for this section the least so I guess i deserve a 16. I used math destroyer but only did 4 tests.
RC: I took 2 bootcamp tests to test my strategy. First test I got a 17 (which freaked me out) and second test I got a 20. Real DAT was super easy and I mostly searched and destroyed.
BIO: I used cliffs AP bio 3rd edition and bio destroyer. Bio destroyer was super helpful AFTER I learned all the info. Read Ferali's notes twice but the real dat just had so many random questions.
GC & OC: I SUCKED at both of these in undergrad. Watched chads and did all of his quizzes, did destroyer, reviewed chads quizzes again and any concepts I had difficulty on (ESP. Stoichiometry and balancing equations) I reviewed until I got it. Then I did destroyer again reviewing highlighted questions. I think destroyer was a little overkill but is necessary to solidify concepts. ESPECIALLY because the DAT can throw anything at you.
I know my scores aren't great but I worked very hard for them and I'm proud of them. A little bummed about QR but I'm hearing most schools have a cutoff at 17 for all sections EXCEPT QR so I'm hoping that's the case. Let me know if you have any questions
