Just finished my first attempt at the DAT. Wanted to get some feedback on what my chances are to get in first round in the fall. I'm a 20 year old white male from Oklahoma with a 3.87 gpa with a 3.82 science.

PAT 21 88%
QR 21 97%
RC 22 85%
Bio 16 36%
GC 18 63%
OC 19 72%

TS 18 63%
AA 19 78%

I really dropped the ball on biology and upset with that. Will a 16 keep me out of consideration?

Appreciate the feedback

A 16 in the most important section (along with RC) is a red flag. Add in your 18 TS and I think this calls for a retake.

You may get some interviews, maybe get into some schools, but it's a gamble to not retake. Your TS score can def be higher... I know it's hard to improve on bio but if you improve the chems you can easily improve your overall TS and therefore AA.

I realize the biology is low and was caught off guard with the random bunch of questions that I had seen nowhere in my study books or practice tests. However I am a biology major and have not received anything but an A in any of my biology classes. I am not trying to get into any ridiculously hard schools, just OU or ones in the area. My question is, is the risk of taking it again and maybe dropping other scores is worth raising my bio a couple points. Or, should I just apply with what I have and see what happens.

Well, if you write the test again, you should def aim for TS and AA of 20+. The Bio is really pulling you down. I would say retake.

this right here.

You really should retake. Being a Bio major with such a high GPA, this makes it look like you might have serious grade inflation.

I don't think the biology is as random as people make it out to be. Sure there might be questions you have never thought about before, but they are usually answerable by putting together 2 or 3 simple concepts.

Prepare better by exposing yourself to more material, doing more practice questions and reviewing mistakes made on questions. Knock it out of the park this time.

You should seriously consider a retake. A 16 in Bio will hurt you. You should aim for a 20+ in TS.
Good luck
