didn't get to post my scores until today but here they are:

PA: 19 (69.4%)
QR: 17 (76.6%)
RC 21 (88.9%)
BIO: 21 (95.5%)
GC: 25 (98.9%)
OC: 18 (64.2%)
TS: 21 (96.2%)
AA: 20 (93.4%)

pretty decent DAT scores IMO, only problem is i have sub 3.0 GPA. i have a decent amount of EC with about 100 hours shadowing and about 50 volunteering.

should i even bother applying? i just graduated, so should i just take post-bacc classes and try applying next year?

my DAT breakdown:

PAT: seemed pretty easy to be honest. i was pretty disappointed with my score. im pretty sure i completely screwed up the angle ranking because i thought i did well on every other portion. CDP is your friend here for sure. pattern folding seemed a lot easier than what CDP offers. keyholes were a bit tougher, but other than that, everything else matched CDP difficulty level.

QR: honestly, who cares. i only used dat destroyer QR section for this. had to guess on about 3 problems that i was not able to finish because of time restraints.

RC: pretty standard stuff. i read through the passages entirely and then answered each of the questions. finished with about 10 minutes left. i guess i made some careless mistakes.

BIO: i used cliffs as my guideline and supplemented it with Cambell and Reece. pretty random questions. i only had one taxonomy question which was pretty annoying (wasted so much time studying for that). i was a bio major, so that certainly helped

GC: Chad. enough said.

OC: Chad. obviously not enough since i got an 18. im really regretting not studying for this section more. chad's videos will NOT be enough to study for this section.

and that's pretty much it. i hope you guys benefited from my breakdown.

paging dentalworks.

lol !! ahh gotta <3 himm😍

if i were u, i wouldnt apply yet due to ur Sub 3.0 ....👎
or maybe apply and list "planned/in progress" courses on ur aadsas, depending how sub 3.0 ur gpa is? if u plan to start ur postbacc in the fall, but even so...mehhhhhh

GPA: 2.8. science GPA is about the same. i was a biology major.

I am assuming you don't have an upward trend? Something I've seen (and noticed myself) is that people with lower GPAs tend to get more recognition when they have good DATs and strong 1-2 year upward trends. If you don't have both ingredients, I suggest you work on some post-bacc plan for the next year (starting even this summer).

Ofc I say this assuming you are like the rest of us ~ money is an issue. If thats the case, it would be best to use the $$$ into something more constructive like post-bacc and gear yourself for next year.

If money is not an issue, apply to 20+ schools now and :xf:
