After debating whether or not to retake, I took the plunge today
PAT 22
QR 22
Reading 21
Bio 20
Gen Chem 21
O Chem 18
TS 19
AA 20
While not the best scores ever, I feel pretty good about them since I improved by at least 2 in each section over last year.
PAT - like has been said before - Crack PAT was fantastic. I took all of the tests a few times, then did random tests for the last few days. Compared to the real thing - key holes and TFE were much more difficult on the real DAT. It could just be my experience, but it took me 13-14 minutes for each of those sections when I was at 7-8 minutes in CDP. Luckily everything else was quite a bit easier. Hole punches were simple except for the fact that the folds weren't symmetrical and it was sometimes pretty difficult to determine which quadrant was being punched. Cubes were easier, as was pattern folding.
QR - the QR section from destroyer '09 was just what I needed. I also lucked out because I just had to take a trig/algebra placement test to get into calc at school. Trig identities were a big theme, so were conversions (kg to g, miles - feet).
Reading - just got lucky. I tried S&D, didn't work. I just ended up reading through the passages.
Bio, GC, OC - destroyer. I only had the destroyer for about two weeks, but if I would have known what it was like, I would have bought it last year and gone through it 5-6 times. I made the mistake last year of thinking that reading through KBB and doing the little sample problems would prepare me - not so much. Destroyer was fantastic. I bought AP Bio, but I didn't use it. The review sheets that came with KBB were great, too.
If I could go back and do anything differently, it would be to work more problems. I don't think it would ever be possible to feel 100% ready for the test, but there were some equations/ideas that I had completely forgotten how to do between the time I read it in the book and saw it on the DAT.
