AH, I'm finally done 😀

So here are the scores:

PAT: 22 :meanie:
QR: 17:scared:
RC: 19 😳
BIO: 22
GC: 26 😍
OC: 20 :eyebrow:
TS: 22
AA: 21 :highfive:

Did I "kill" it?

Here's what I used:

BIO- DESTROYER*, Cliff's,TOPSCORE*, Achiever, Qvault

GC- DESTROYER*, TOPSCORE*, Achiever, Qvault

OC- DESTROYER*, TOPSCORE*, Achiever, Qvault

PAT- CDP, Achiever

QR- MATH DESTROYER

RC- TOPSCORE

So, I would say for the sciences the DESTROYER is must and all you need especially for GC and OC. I thought Topscore was the closest to the real exam in reference to type of questions and difficulty. I really thought I did better on OC than GC but guess not😕

Achiever is, as everyone says, overkill for sciences but it does have some good PAT practice, especially the keyholes and pattern folding (most similar to real DAT).

Although I may not be one to talk, for QR all you need is the Math Destroyer. More importantly you need to time yourself taking each test or the timing will KILL on the real deal :scared:

So what do you guys think about the scores? I know QR is really low and is KILLING me on the inside. Thank you and good luck to the future DAT DESTROYERS! 😀

You definitely killed it except QR. I think admin commitiees would think QR matters the least, esp. when your TS and AA are so awesome. But I have heard something here and there about cutoff minimums for consideration. I don't know if a 17 is under the cutoff or not. I will hope not for you.:xf: Maybe someone around these parts knows something about this and can provide some details.

What do you wish you had done to prepare better for RC?

Great scores!! The 22 TS is what I was gunning for...haha

It's hard to say with the 17 QR...If that was me I'd be inclined not to retake, at least not right away. Congrats!

Yeah, just hoping that the score is (ok) for most schools! I'm going to do some more research on the matter, thanks. But for RC, I think I should have just done more practice. I would say Topscore is the closest thing to the real deal. However, the real DAT has tone questions (not a lot maybe two or three) which had some odd words that I couldn't really grasp and relate to the passages. I heard Achiever was overkill but I suppose I should have done it to be over-prepared.

Great scores. Math is a bit low but again it's above the cutoff in my book. U got 20+ AA your golden.

Great score, you did well congrats. Do you remember your topscore scores?
Thank you! My Topscore scores for the sciences remained around the 19-20 range for the most part. I did only one PAT section(as I heard it repeats structures). I did RC and also remained in that 19 category (darn it!). I didn't do QR, which may have been my downfall. I do recommend definitely timing yourself for math.

How long did you have to wait before getting your scores at the test center? Immediately or like 5, 10 minutes?
Yep, as Mr. DAT12 put it, you can opt to take a surveyand then the scores pop up or the scores just pop up on the screen if you skip. As you sign out, they print you the unofficial copy.

I do not know why you are scares. You simply did fine. You should not worry about it. Concentrate on Dental School curriculum 😉

How does top score help in RC? Do they just give you lots of practice, or they actually give you helpful advice?

TopScore is similar in terms of question types. Although there were no tone/inference questions on TopScore, there WERE tone questions on the real DAT. TopScore provides 3 practice tests (3 different RC sections) on which you can practice timing and different strategies.

What did you think of PAT on the real DAT vs your practice tests?
I thought CDP was on par with most of the sections. Hole punching I felt was easier on the real DAT but keyholes and pattern folding were much harder. I would recommend Achiever for those two sections but everything else you'll be fine with CDP.

WOW amazing scores! Who cares you didnt score perfectly on one section you did so well on the others. Thanks for the breakdown and the study tips. greatly appreciated.

So, the only way to gain confidence in RC is doing passages. That is what I thought. Did you try reading some science magazines or newspapers? If so, did it help for RC?

I didn't read anything extra for RC. I read articles online but for my own pleasure so I was not actively scanning and looking to answer tone questions.. I do think with practice, under a time constraint, can improve your score.
