Hey guys. Finally I am done with this sh...., and I hope that all of you do great in your test.
My result was a bit funny, or better to say stupid, with some extremely great scores and some ridiculously low scores, and the average turned out to be very good. So, I don't know how those low scores going to effect my acceptance. Since I am married and, I cannot really go out of California. Do you think that I have any chance for CA's schools.

PAT 27.........99.7 😱👍
QR 16.........63.5 🙁👎
RC 17.........24.9 :scared:👎
Bio 22..........96
GC 21..........87
OC 29..........99😱😕
TS 23..........98
AA 21...........93.4

My GPA for both science and total is 3.5 from UC Berkeley. I have had 8 months of shadowing, 1500 hours of volunteering in the research lab, a year of work as research assistant, and three publications one of which is actually on teeth.
I will post complete breakdown in few days

WOW! amazing AA and TS for a 16 and 17 in QR and RC. I believe that UCSF and UOP have cutoffs at 17..but those are great scores, you might want to call and find out what your options are

your stat is more than enough to be accepted from USC, loma linda, and western university. I am quite sure you'll have a chance for UOP as well

First mistake: Not securing a spouse that is ok moving with you for 4 years for Dschool.

Unfortunately with those high score I would say you had a great shot at UCSF and UCLA (especially because you are from a UC school), but they have a cutoff in any section of 17. (90% sure about this, call them and find out)

The other private schools in Cali have different policies so your best bet is checking with them. If you make any of their cutoffs you have a good shot with a stellar TS and AA.

Actually that's not the case with the SF schools. This is a direct paste from the UCSF site. "All applicants must have Minimum DAT scores of 17 in the Total Science and Academic Average sections of the test." That means QR can be below that. Also, I've spoken in person with the assistant dean of admissions at UoP and he said they tend to look past low QR scores as long as the AA is good. QR is least important since it has been shown to be the most ineffective predictor of success in dental school when compared with the other sections.

I agree with the above post, the cutoffs do not apply to QR. You should be good to go for all the CA schools. They are all worth a try!
