I am very new to this forum and thought I'd share my DAT experience. I only studied for 3 weeks (quite a few all-nighters), and I do not recommend this to anyone. This was an extremely stressful experience. I've been swamped w/ science courses and preparing for graduation, so 3 weeks is all I really had to prepare for the DAT!! I wanted to get my scores to schools early, which is why I didn't push my test date back. Anyways, here are the results:

PA 20
QR 19
RC 22
BIO 21
GC 21
OC 20
TS 21
AA 21

My one piece of advice to everyone is, "Prepare to take this exam ONLY once...." The test is definitely challenging, but it's nothing too intense. To be honest, I stressed out the most during RC (no frap!). I used the search-n-destroy method, but there were a lot of tone-type questions. I had to make a few good educated guesses, as I found it difficult to find some of the detailed answers.

As for the materials I used:

- Kaplan (online)
- Top Score (good practice)
- I went through Achiever, which I found to be pointless
- A brief skim through Destroyer (my friend's copy), which I found to be good, but it's far more detailed than what the test requires...

Anyways, here are the rest of my stats:

GPA's: Cum3.9 / Sci3.94 / BCP4.0

I'm applying to the following schools:

University of Florida
Tufts University
University of Pennsylvania
University of Maryland
University of Louisville
Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry
Nova Southeastern University
University of Alabama at Birmingham
UNC

What do you think my chances are?

Also, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to shoot, as all your posts have been helpful to me. Celebration time

I've only have about three weeks of studying as well. Lets hope I do well like you lol.

Would it be safe to assume you're an FSU student? 😉 haha Great job, man!!!!

Congrats! I'm a nole too!! Good luck with applying..I'm sure you'll get more than a few interviews with those scores 🙂

Looks like there are quite a few people on here applying to UF.

Have fun in dental school!🙂

Solid stats, you should get interviews at all of those schools.

Good luck with your interviews!!!

Indeed. You should have no problem with your DAT and GPA though, jolley 😉

You have great DAT scores yourself, I am sure you will get into some of the schools you would like.

I hope to go to UF or Nova since that are close to home, but we will see, I am worried about Nova because it seems a lot of people on here are getting interviews there, but I haven't heard from them since I finished my supplemental. All AADSAS says is "under review." It has been like that for 2 weeks now.

Yeah definitely good work!

I know I was afraid also because I only had 2 weeks to prepare and I was working full time (though it was research so I studied a lot during work those 2 weeks prior).

Glad it went well for you.

Great scores man. One piece of advice is that I wouldn't apply to Alabama. The chances are just too slim and not worth the money. You should get into UF but if you need other schools try Ohio State or Temple.

Good job!
