I am very new to this forum and thought I'd share my DAT experience. I only studied for 3 weeks (quite a few all-nighters), and I do not recommend this to anyone. This was an extremely stressful experience. I've been swamped w/ science courses and preparing for graduation, so 3 weeks is all I really had to prepare for the DAT!! I wanted to get my scores to schools early, which is why I didn't push my test date back. Anyways, here are the results:
PA 20
QR 19
RC 22
BIO 21
GC 21
OC 20
TS 21
AA 21
My one piece of advice to everyone is, "Prepare to take this exam ONLY once...." The test is definitely challenging, but it's nothing too intense. To be honest, I stressed out the most during RC (no frap!). I used the search-n-destroy method, but there were a lot of tone-type questions. I had to make a few good educated guesses, as I found it difficult to find some of the detailed answers.
As for the materials I used:
- Kaplan (online)
- Top Score (good practice)
- I went through Achiever, which I found to be pointless
- A brief skim through Destroyer (my friend's copy), which I found to be good, but it's far more detailed than what the test requires...
Anyways, here are the rest of my stats:
GPA's: Cum3.9 / Sci3.94 / BCP4.0
I'm applying to the following schools:
University of Florida
Tufts University
University of Pennsylvania
University of Maryland
University of Louisville
Boston University Goldman School of Dentistry
Nova Southeastern University
University of Alabama at Birmingham
UNC
What do you think my chances are?
Also, if anyone has any questions, please feel free to shoot, as all your posts have been helpful to me. Celebration time
