NICE scores!!! for QR how many questions were able to finish since you said you didn't have enough time?

Ouch tough luck there with the RC and QR. I hate to say this but i think that you should retake. With 2 really low scores like that i am not sure that schools will consider your application. But hey yah never know.

Well I went through and would just skip any problem that I didn't think I could formulate a plan for within 10 seconds, so I got through all 40, but guessed on a bunch so I could get through it all

good science score and with those GPAs i wouldn't too worry about readings and math.

you said a lot of lab questions for organic chemistry and that means a lot of NMR, or IR?
or a lot of questions that are like extraction, chromatography, and ect?

and approximately how many out of 30?

Thanks.

Yea...the thing about the math and RC is, in school I took 2 extra reading/writing honors courses and got an A and an A-. And for the math ive always got A's in my math classes, including Calculus. Also, I have an A and an A+ in physics. So I hope that will help a little.

Yea for the lab questions it was alot of spectroscopy and IR, must have been like 4 or 5.

You're bio section is scarying me lol. I am using the same material as you and feel that bio is my strong section. I'm surprised you got a 20 using cliffs/destroyer/kaplan/mcat though. Also, what would be the best way to prep for the organic lab questions you saw?

Anyways overall good scores.

Yea it was a real let down, I felt like a bio pro. Unfortunately, the test will either ask you things that are not even in those books or it will ask you something that is in your book in a way that you have no idea what the answer is. Honestly, I dont know how I could have done anything different. The only way I could have done better is if i was a BIO major and was more familiar with lots of these things. Probably would have helped alot of have taken Physiology as well...so if you got that under your belt thatd be really good. But just to give you an idea of how much biology I studied, I read the Cliffs book a minimum of 8 times (100 pages everyday) and went over Destroyer BIO like 5 times.

For the lab questions, I would become really familiar with 1H, 13C, and IR and memorize the key signal values for different functional groups. But with their random questions you can get more prepared, but i dont think you can ever be fully prepared for what they are going to dish you. So grasp the concepts as hard as you can and hope you can put it together when u take the test.

I disagree with this completely. You did well on the sciences - very consistent scores there. Your QR and RC scores, however, could do you in regardless of your GPA. Adcoms will see your (above average) GPA and then look at your DAT scores... and I'm willing to bet the RC score will be a red flag.

If you had scored a few points higher (particularly on the RC), I'd say apply and give it a shot, but you have two things working against you here: 1) everyone has been saying that the applicant pool for this cycle appears to be more competitive/qualified than in past years (which is consistent with the expected trend), and 2) many schools have a cutoff score for each section.

All of this is aside from the fact that the RC section is widely regarded as one of the most important (and predictive) sections on the DAT...
I hate to put a damper on things, but I just wanted to give you a realistic perspective so you're not just pissing away money on applications.

Good luck...

Well regardless if I do or not, I dont think it will help this application cycle. Wouldnt it be too late to send in retake scores?

Already applied so saving money really isnt an issue anymore

I found the RC and QR very challenging too. The rest of your scores are solid. I would consider retaking the exam, or finding out the cut off scores for the schools you applied to

Yeah, like others have recommended, you better call your favorite schools and ask if they have any cutoff for both RC and QR sections.

Man, those science scores are too good and balanced to be wasted for a retake...🙁

Apply and retake and dont report your scores unless you do much better. Also do not tell the schools that you are retaking until after you do so and only if you do better.

hey, great scores!!! on biology, i'm having difficulty memorizing the 5 kingdoms and phylums, could you tell me if they are tested on? thanks
