IT IS OVER! 😀
I was shaking when I walked out of the testing center. No Joke.
I thought I def did terrible while I was waiting for the scores to pop up because I did not have a chance to recheck my answers in the science section. I went very slow reading every question twice before answering, and I guess that paid off in the end.
*whew*
First of all, thank you! to everyone who helped and gave me support and answered my questions. You all know who you are. I could not have done this without all of you and your help and this website.
Ok here we go
Bio: 20
OChem: 21
Chem: 17
RC: 19 (pianoed)
QR: 16
PAT: 20
TS:19
AA:19
Now, I am extremely happy with these scores even though they arent as high as alot of people here. I studied gen chem the least and I did not study for the math at all. Haha
Ok here we go:
Bio: Study guide that came with my textbook, Cliffs, My actual textbook, Kaplan, Notes I got from here, and Destroyer are all essential
Like I posted in other threads, experimental cell bio, DNA technology, and genetic basis of development is key to this section. Those chapters were not covered in my bio classes and I decided to learn them myself a week before the exam so that they would be fresh. You can find those topics in your biology textbook.
OChem: Kaplan, Textbook, Chads videos, and Destroyer are also mandatory for this section.
The reactions are basic. The road maps are soo helpful. Make index cards of them.
Once you know destroyers reactions cold, the reactions on the real thing are very simple. There were a couple of reactions straight out of destroyer.
The only things I know I got wrong was the NMR and spec. Destroyer IMHO does not cover that material well enough and I never really learned it to begin with. I tried to memorize the basics like 1700 is carbonyl and 3000 broad is alcohol or w/e. But the answer choices arent obvious with the NMR.
Chem: Kaplan, Chads Videos (I did not use destroyer for this section)
This was always my worst section. I hate general chemistry. I kinda slacked with this section, and got tripped up on some things. But its very similar to topscore.
RC: Kaplan, Topscore, Achiever
I studied the least for this because I am a fast reader and I was getting 20+ in every RC test. I got pianoed though. And I was very upset when I saw that passage. That is def the reason I did not break 20 in this section. (because I did get over 20 the last time I took the DAT) The best advice I have is just to suck it up if you get this passage. If you get it first skip it and go back to it. It is doable if you just skip around.
QR: Just what I did on my practice tests (I didnt use destroyer)
There is really nothing to say except that speed is key. The questions arent difficult you just dont have enough time. Again, I did not review for this section so whatever lol
PAT: Crack the DAT PAT
This program is the best I have seen for the PAT.
I used destroyer, topscore, achiever and kaplan subject tests. Topscore is more representative of the real thing yes, but the more questions you do the better you will be.
