.I'm excited that I am finally done. I hope this will be the last time. This was my second time taking it. So how worried should I be about my 13QR? Do some schools combine your scores and take the higher sections? I hope this is not too big of a red flag. Overall I'm satisfied with the improvement I've made. My GPA is 3.51-Overall..... 3.2- Science....... 3.47BCP. Do I need to retake?
1st time........ 2nd TIme:
BIO: 18 ............. BIO:20
CHM: 18 .............. CHM:21
OCHEM: 22 ........... OCHEM:22
PAT: 20 ............. PAT:19
RC: 16 ................ RC:17
QR: 17 ............ QR: 13😱
AA: 18 TS:19 ................ AA:19 TS:21
. BREAKDOWN:
BIO: As everyone else has been saying, it is random. Alot it is applying concepts. I noticed a strong emphasis on Ecology, Embryology and cellular chemistry. There were a few plant concepts but they didn't seem too difficult. I thought I was going to fail this section. I studied Cliff's, Destroyer, KBB and Kaplan tests. I felt that Destroyer and Cliff's helped the most. I don't know what I would study if I had to do it over again. Every test probably has its own way of being another set of random questions. So for not being a BIO major I'm very happy with this section.
CHEM: A good 50/50 mix of concepts and calculations. The calculations were not too lengthy but for maybe 1-2 (IMO). Some of the concept questions are worded tricky. Chad's reviews really helped me with the concepts. Destroyer is also great for this section. Make sure you know how to setup the problems from destroyer.
OCHEM: Nothing too much out of the ordinary. A few NMR and IR questions, but they were not tricky. Chad's reviews and Destroyer helped a lot. Also Destroyer roadmaps were very helpful.
RC: I was actually feeling good about this section. I had Floating Bridges, Epidemiology and Spinal Cord. I used search and destroy and I guess I ended up getting destroyed. Well at least I improved a point. I should have practiced more. There were a lot of tone questions in floating bridges.
QR: What a nightmare. I should of just guessed and called it done and would have gotten the same score. I actually felt like I was working with over 50% of the problems. This section is just insane. Most of the questions are manageable with about 5-6 trig questions. You just have to be fast in order to do well. So If I could go back and study for this I would be quick with dimensional analysis, fast at dividing and multiplying and setting up word problems quickly. Well my lack of studying sure showed for this section. I was hoping for at least a 17 like last time. Oh well I just hope for the best.
