I am very disappointed with my RC score. And kinda disappointed with QR and PAT. Do you guys suggest I retake the DATs? What are my chances with these scores? I have a 3.4 gpa and a 3.2-3.3 sci gpa. I go to NYU and want to get into NYU college of dentistry. Do I have a good shot?

Also if I were to retake the DATs does anyone have any suggestions for RC?

Thanks!

You have a good science score!!

well..I haven't take the real DAT but I have been practicing..
I am getting 21-22 in RC althought English is my second language.
I didn't do much practice...I think just what I do usually helps me on this section
I read Time every week and I like to read little gossip articles (such as movie start profiles and things like that) on-line...Since I read little articles fast (mostly skimming) and I can tell which is the key point as I skim through stuff. So when I read DAT RC section, I skim through, then read questions, then read article again and answer them.

So, try to read little articles a lot. (books won't help..I think) Learn to skim through really quickly and go back to find where that was in the passage. Just practice your eyes for that.

I think that helps me..I am not good with English but getting the points out of passage is something I can do.

I am not sure you should retake it or not...you have good Science score I think..

Your dat is ok, but your gpa is kind of low.

Your Dat is better than okay. Congrats! Those are solid numbers, minus RC. Call NYU and see what their cutoff for RC is...it will give you a better idea of where you stand. If you're below the cutoff, then you'll have to retake. Best of luck!

You might consider yourself lucky, because most schools have a reading cut off at 16 !
