My name is Enter The Dojo. After six weeks on a hellish island, I have come home with only one goal-- to save my summer. But to do so, I can't be the studious person I once was. To honor my DAT, I must be someone else. I must be something else...
* FINISH HIM!!!!! *severes the DAT's head*

Alright well that was my dramatic introduction to let the SDN community know I have finished my DAT. my breakdown is going to be a little different because you guys already know what study material to use and how long to study from the previous 8.5 billion breakdown you've read. so i'm here to let you guys know something.

BREAKDOWN:

PAT: 20
QR: 20
RC: 24
BIO: 24
GC: 21
OC: 23
TS: 23
AA:22

One thing that I want you guys to notice is that everyone studies 6-10 hours a day, everyone studies 6-8 weeks, and everyone uses the same resources. Yet, some people get 18's while others bang out 25's. why is that? it's because of your attitude and confidence! let me tell you something, everyday when i woke up I hit my chest three times and said to myself "you will do amazing on this test." It doesn't matter what you got on you're practice tests yesterday, it's a new day it's time to achieve new things! Let me tell you something, everyone on here wants to do well but you have got to work for it! I was up by 7:00 a.m. every morning to ensure I could start studying by 8 a..m.. If you want to kill this test you have got to have a STRICT sleep and wake schedule. Another thing that I want you guys to realize is that when people can't do something themselves they'll make you believe you can't either, i'm here to tell you YOU CAN AND WILL DO AMAZING THINGS, just work hard. Just because someone else "smarter" than you got a low score doesn't mean you'll get a score lower than them. Remember the key to success in all walks of life is 95% hard work and 5% luck. i'm not here to sound like a motivational speaker but my parting message to you guys is this, "If you know what you're worth, then go out and get what you're worth."

Enter The Dojo,

Very refreshing post indeed. To conquer the DAT it will take discipline and hard work, no doubt about that. But a positive attitude and belief in oneself is also important. Anyone can make a weakness a strength by hard work and a belief system that tells you "I can" rather than " I can not".

Job well done and wishing you the very best in your journey to becoming a dentist.

I disagree with this - I don't think it's attitude or confidence, it's just the quality of your preparation. Put 50 people in a room with the same preparation material, the same amount of time, and the same test and you will still get a range of scores. Some people put more focus into their work and want it bad enough, others not so much. Those who are constantly paying attention, constantly trying to learn and not just get through another page to say they've done it, and filling in every gap of knowledge will succeed. Most people do not fit this mold; this is why they most people are scoring an 18 or less.

Hilarious post by the way, I love Arrow.

to each their own plasmamembrance, I know I couldn't have gotten these scores if I didn't believe in myself and have the confidence.

I agree with you The Dojo , I have worked with students throughout the years with high GPA's from great schools, whose self confidence was lacking and didn't score as high on the DAT as student with a lesser GPA. Difference being that student had pure drive and determination and self confidence that comes from within. IMO that can make all the difference.
