Hey All--
I know everyone is sick of seeing people post their scores...but I just want to contribute my input of the DAT since everyone is so helpful on this website, (you know who you are)...I assume there are still some studying for it...
Here are my scores: I have not figured out to have a break down today or tomorrow about how they are not hot. I REALLY REALLY REALLY would like honesty on what you think please if I will get in this year. I was so sad after I walked out of the testing center after I saw my scores. Then I called my friend who just started UCSF to ask her her opinion... and she told me that the total science is more important than the other scores so I should not fret. Is that true? I am worried that she is just trying to help me feel better since we are good friends. I know the net can be much more honest..so please help.

Total Science: 20
PAT: 15
Academic Average: 18
GPA: 3.3 from UT and currently taking BIOCHEM
*Applied to 11 schools. I am a texas resident but are my hopes up on getting into a Texas school because of my stats?
Should I retake the DAT? I really don't wanna look at that stuff again.. 😱 but I would LOVE honesty.
So what is the average of getting in this year? And do those percentiles on the DAT report get sent along to the individual schools with the raw scores? Or does just the raw score like 19, 20... get sent to the schools. I ask because my percentiles suck. My QR is all horrid with a 25%. And reading comp was totally different than what I was practicing.
Now what do I do? Do I have to call all the schools and FAX them that copy I got from the testing center today to make the process faster? I am confused...or do I just wait. And do I need to contact TMDSAS and AADSAS about my scores or do they automatically get sent. I don't remember paying for TMDSAS or AADSAS score DAT reports, just schools so I am confused here too?

OK DAT FEEDBACK for those still studying:
Biology: They ask really random questions. I studied way too much for that, and then they ask random stuff...grrrr. I had no tax, evolution, no respiration. Just random stuff. You have to eliminate the wrong answers.
General Chem: I was so upset at this section. I probably only had like 6 or 7 calculations...they ask more theory stuff. I studied all kinds of problems and this and that...and then they wanna ask simple questions that I did not even think about looking over in my chem book. GRR
Organic chem: Not too shabby. Not many reactions, mostly basics from OCHEM1.
RC: I was like WTF...It is nothing like any of the practice stuff. I totally messed up and it messed up my train of thought. Questions like "if you could predict the next book, what would MOST LIKELY represent a third persons perspective?" I was caught off guard that they were not like kaplan and topscore stuff.
QR: I had mostly word problems...and had to do all the caculations for them. It took up so much time and then next thing you know I only have 10 minutes left and half of the problems left to do.

PS: If you are not applying till next year...take this advice. Do not be a procrastinator like ME! I studied for about three weeks and did not take any prep class. I used Kaplan, Topscore, Barrons, and my old books. I wish I got my butt in gear and studied earlier and had more time. boo hoo.

Your GPA and TS are not bad at all. Pretty good actually. Your PAT is pretty bad though.

I would not take the test again since you already applied, unless you call them and they say you should.

Your academic average is pretty close to TX schools. The PAT is a bit lower (I think average based on what they gave us at the Health Professions office is ~18).

I would guess biochem opens the door for you at UT Houston, given that it is a requirement for admission. I would guess that there are plenty of pre-dents that are biology majors that may not venture into biochem, thus limiting their ability to apply to that school. Which class are you in? 339 or 369?

You didn't say much about extracurriculars or your science GPA either. If those are both good I think it is possible to get some interviews.

Those are not bad scores at all. You have a good gpa (especially considering your major) and I wouldn't take the DAT over again. Since schools will send out acceptances on or after December 1st and it will take some time before the dust settles in order to see what the averages are this year, no one can tell you what those averages are. I will venture to say that for most schools those numbers should not be that far off from last year's. Please, don't beat yourself up over your scores! You'll be just fine and I would look for you to matriculate into dental school next year - and that's not lip service either. If you haven't already done so then get your applications into AADSAS and TMDSAS. You'll be just fine! 👍

It's like you do all this....and now it's just waiting time. I should have studied more for the dat instead of procrastinating but there's nothing to do about it now. But I am still sulking.... 🙁 I did have one question though, I sent in my AADSAS at the end of July. And it is still not processed. Is there anyone else in my same boat that applied at the end of July who still has not had anything processed to the schools?

I sent my app in mid-july, and the schools recieved it mid august, if your app hasn't been processed by now, i would call ADEA immediately in the morning!

i think i have similar case..i sent out on aug 2..what do u mean by not processed? have u checked info source??anything shows up? i called the school they said aadsasa has not yet sent my file..
