For one, F*** THE PROMETRIC CENTER… The one in Van Nuys, CA. Wow… How Rude can some people Be???How Annoying can some people get.
An older lady 50s or 60s years old, right next to ME, pushing down on those keys on the keyboard like she has NEVER used a F****** keyboard for 4.5 hours is VERY ANNOYING. The headphones don't do jack to help noises like that.
I couldNOT concentrate, told them, they said it is what it is. Tried to use the bathroom in between my RC and QR for a minute, ran out, the stupid BITCH runs in front of me like it's a f***** prison. Where do you think you're going??? I'm like, how can I use the bathroom ( I wasn't trying to leave or anything, I just opened the door to go out to their office, so she tells me I have to sign out, I'm like okay, where the sign out form (I had a hurry tone ON while talking to her) she goes "How rude!! Other people are using it (some guy was doing his finger print an pictures, they use the same notebook for both things), you have to wait… I swear to god, a whole bunch of crazy things went through my mind in like a split second and almost went nuttz, but I knew the test was more important so I ran in the test room again with the piss still inside of me and dealt with it.
I'm going to make sure I make a couple of phone calls and tell them what happened and I put everything down on their stupid survey at the end.
1. I COULD NOT, I SWEAR TO GOD, I COULD NOT concentrate for a single MINUTE because of the lady next to me, especially for the RC section.
2. I truly realized that they don't give a damn about us students, or how we do, what we get, or anything like that. The girl in there was constantly on the phone with her boyfriend or some **** (when I checked in, and when I took my break)…

Anyways, the test.

Bio was fair. Just fair. Read everything you can. Read Kaplan twice and read the destroyer like 4 times and understand everything. Destroyer is KEY. No im not advertising...
Gchem, kind of time consuming but again fair and straight forward I thought, but very time consuming for some reason. I couldn't just skip any question and had to do them because I consider myself pretty good at gchem. Don't do what I did.
Ochem: I got to ochem with 17 mins left on the clock and I totally got screwed, TOTALLY. I could NOT believe my eyes. 2 HNMR, 2 CNMR, 1 IR and another LAB question for a total of 6. How is this fair?? I don't understand. I missed all NMR and CNMR, because I thought max 1 would show up, I ran out of time and show on my score...

QR. Skip it if you give it over 5% that you may NOT be able to solve it. Just skip and get the easy one. Okay over all but in a very bad time crunch and I mean a really bad ONE. Kaplan is good.
RC. Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow The Piano article is ridicules, what the f***, NO, really, WHAT THE F***? Crazy article asking way too in depth question for a 20 minute time slot. Waaaaaay too in depth, the other two were really easy articles.
PA: I seriously found 3 errors in their size consistency for key whole thing, 1 q on TFE has NO right answer, 1 q on paper fold had more than one possible answer choice. Angles were ok, cube was easy, whole punch was okay but the paper is set up weird, its like there are 6 lines instead of 4. Or maybe it was my eyes.

Anyways,
Scores… let me know if I have a chance at an interview or two.

Hi there! I am sorry for the bad experience. The environment you took the test play a strong factor on how you will do well. Hope for the best. However, with Ochem 16 i suggest you added more school. Other scores are fine. Gluck

I had the same kina experience three years ago. See if you can beat this. The prometric person left and asked her 14-15 years old daughter to take care of the center!!
The little girl who obviously had no idea about what she was supposed to do, asked me to come out every time my laminated sheet was full, because she had to wipe it off for me!! I was like are you f***kidding me? But she said she has been told to do this. It is the law and the examiners are not allowed to take anything in besides the marker and the sheets. So I had to run out every single time and ask her to wipe my laminated sheet for me.
I ended up with 15AA, filed a complain, but nothing happened.

So I hope you feel a little better now. At least your scores are fine and hopefully will get you somewhere. GL

It's because TS is graded based on how many you got right out of 100 SNS Qs, and OP may have got high ends on two or all three sections.

For example, people get 19 on bio if they get 30~33 Qs right. And OP got 33 and just missed 20 by 1 question.

i feel terrible for u and OP, i mean that...is...bad. My testing center was real chill, i actually went to use the bathroom before the break (cuz i finished PAT real fast and had extra time), and they didn't really ask me if i was on break and just said sign out then sign in, they also provide me with sharpie and eraser in the room. i guess i was lucky i didn't have to ask 15 yr olds to wipe my sheet for me...

yeah...

but heres the thing... I took those test ways before I was done actually studying... the first achiever I took like 2 months ago and then every week or every two weeks I would take another one of achiever or topscore or the kaplan ones.

Achiever I did really bad
bio 16s
gchem 17-18ish
ochem 16-19


Topscore was much better

Kaplan was really weird. On the midterm I messed up pretty bad.

on final i did better 18-19s...



again all these scores are old.. i did the majority of my studying the past 2-3 weeks. The tests I took before that... I just didnt wanna take a test before my actual DAT just incase I got a low score, I didnt wanna bring my self conf down.

boro dahanamo gayeed... i mean seriouly destroyed my confidence and concentration. at that second man, there are so many things going through your mind (which im sure you already know) that i didnt even think twice about looking over to her side and telling her to shut up... I didnt want them to come out and say, "oh there, you cheated", you know?? They're already crazy so whatever.

i'm gonna call ADA and Make sure I get a free RETAKE.. this is bullS***... I didnt study 2.5 months for this crap.
I dont even know what I missed. I almost knew every single question on the bio and gchem bekhoda... and that only means that I was very disturbed at the time and not choosing the right answers or doing the work correctly.

so as soon as I walked in the morning, I had a couple of review notes with me that I place in my locker.. some forumlars and important stuff you know...

so as soon as I walked in, i put it all down on one of the sheets that they give you, since the info was still fresh... Bro I had all formular and concepts like a full page worth that I wrote down during the tuturial for ochem, gchem, bio, and some math forumals, etc... I'm not really good in math.

I swear, during the test like mid Gchem time, this lady was making so much F****** noise that I completely lost what I was doing and accidently erased everything off my other board instead of the one that was right infront of me.

that just hit me really hard...

you think they'll undrestand and let me retake or something like that??? NOT in van nuys.
Prometric is going to get it from me, i have promised myself to make sure that lady stops working there ASAP....

that sucks you sat next to a noisy test taker but what can you do😕 i'm surprised those big ass headphones didn't help though. that lady must've been maaaashing on that keyboard. the bathroom sign out thing is fair...you're suppose to sign in and out every time and with your license and the finger print thing.

They have strict rules and policies at those test centers. Of course they're gonna keep a close eye on everyone. You should have known to sign out every time you left the room.

However, I think you are overreacting a little about the testing center officer. I took both of my tests at Van Nuys branch, and I know the old lady that you are talking about. Honestly, I thought she was not annoying at all, but was professional. Yeah, she was very strict, but you have to abide by the rules anyways. I'm sure she told you about the signing in and out whenever you get out of the testing room because both times when I was there, she told me every rule on the book. I feel you that it seems a little unfair that our testing environment was a little stricter and harsher than those that many other SDNers had. But, please think twice before making any complaint. You've never come across people that complain like this constantly? I can just see the OP complaining about every little thing going wrong and that is "unfair". i never knew about signing IN or OUT... no1 said anything about them. When i walked in at 8am there were 15 people waiting to get seated, they didnt explain anything to anyone. 😱...

However, I think you are overreacting a little about the testing center officer. I took both of my tests at Van Nuys branch, and I know the old lady that you are talking about. Honestly, I thought she was not annoying at all, but was professional. Yeah, she was very strict, but you have to abide by the rules anyways. 1. she's not a lady, i would say maybe 21-24 years old.
2. Major attitude, and I'm not kidding...
3. since you missed the top posting, in the morning when i came in, she was on the phone with someone talking while people were waiting. there was no line or check in numbers, she would get off the phone (not hang it, but leave it off the hook on her desk) walk over and ask whos next... everyone would get up (LOL) people didnt really looked at who came in before them or whatever so that was the first thing that went wrong in the mroning that had a couple of other people pissed off.
4. she was talking to this lady that I guess was there to take her TOEFL english test, (her english wasnt good), like she was a F****** dog... "NO, that goes IN THERE, YOU SEE THAT THERE, THAT'S A LOCKER, YOUR STUFF, YEAH, THOSE, GO IN THERE..." ... who the hell talks like that to people?? Not professional
5. when I cam out on my break, she was still on ther phone, i asked here where the bathroom key was, she goes to the other person on the phone "hold on, a customer, let me call you back, ok, you call me back when you're done" right infront of me...
6. when I was leaving she was still on the phone and when i was getting my print out, there was another genteman that had came in (employee) that couldnt print out my paper... we again, had to wait for her to get her ass off the phone to come over and give me the paper... saying "yeah, customer again, call you back"

i'm not just BSing here.. nor am bad just becuase of scores people... i prob will get in somewhere this year... if not im only 23, just turned... many more years to come, next yaer or the year after... its just im sad to see that they dont care about people like us to study their asses off...

they should at least care a little when we have made this DAT thing our entire life...
