Hey everyone,
Here are my 'unofficial' scores:
PAT 26
QR 22
RC 22
Bio 22
GC 24
OC 29
TS 24
AA 24
So yeah, it went surprisingly well today, needless to say I'm extremely happy and relieved. Here were my study habits and methods:
PAT: Crack DAT PAT, period. Can't stress enough how helpful it was. I had the 10 test version and by the end was getting 25's, ended with a 26 so it was pretty close to the real thing. Helped hugely with timing. Angle ranking on the real thing was a little easier, otherwise everything I think was quite close.
QR: Didn't study much for it. 4 days before the test I realized I may be screwed on QR so I bought CDM and did 6 of the tests. Got in the 19-29 range on those tests so I'm not sure how closely related they are to the real thing. Helped with time though, actually had extra time at the end.
RC: Didn't study at all, except for in the few full-length topscore tests I took. Was surprised how many inference and implication questions there were on the real thing compared to topscore.
Bio: Studied from Schaum's, Kaplan, Destroyer. Made a large load of notecards, most of which turned out to be unnecessary. But you can't really predict what will be on this section.
GC: Kaplan and Destroyer. Surprised by how few calculations I had to do.
OC: Destroyer here was key. I did very well in O chem in undergrad but hadn't seen it since (over 3 years ago) so I had to relearn most everything. If you know destroyer well then you are well prepared.
I studied off and on a few hours a day for the last 4 months, and the last 2 weeks I studied probably 6 hours a day, whenever I wasn't working or sleeping. Majored in chem and graduated May 2008. Hope this helps. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
