i took it on saturday and got:

18---RC
20- QR
20- orgo
18--chem
18- bio
17- pat
19- AA
19- TS

Now, i have two choices:

1) Apply this cycle in about a month with gpa 3.3(both science and overall), few extracircular activities and volunteer

2) apply next year.. add tons of activities and volunteer work.. bring my gpa up to 3.4s and 3.4o.......

This is my 2nd attempt... i do not want to take it a third time... what do u guys think i should do??? apply this year or next year?

or should i take the dat again (i seriously do not want to).. thanks in advance

Well I would say retake, but if this is your second attempt and you mostly improved from you first time then take your chances, but I think from personal experience you will not get far with a 17 pat especially if you are gonna apply in september.

So, if you take the dat again or not, just apply early next year

well, i got a 19/18/14 last time... pat for me is very hard...mainly because of TFE... so seen if i take it again...im pretty sure i wont get higher than 18 on pat....

Why don't you try taking the Kaplan course? (my teacher let some non-registered people sneak in for some sections)

I think it helped me the most with TFE and cube-counting (first I was LOOKING for the cubes -- diagnostic, but kaplan told me to count all the cubes before you enter the problem). Once you know the strategy how to solve PAT problems, you will most likely get 20+ on PAT section. Some say you get it or you don't get it for PAT.. but PAT is all about strategy I think.

I think your stats look good. Your GPA is slightly below average but that doesn't mean you can't get in with a 3.3

A 17 on PAT isn't that bad.. It's on the borderline but at least its not a 16. I say apply, but I am not sure if it is too late. It takes forever for the ADA to process your information if you haven't already opened up an application in June, so you would be at the bottom of the pile.

Sorry if I am not helpful, but if you submitted your application then you should definitely go for it this cycle.

thanks anyway... i have yet to apply as i am waiting for my recs letters...so it will be a while since i will submit my app

Just apply smart. 17 Pat is not too bad I think... if you think TFE is hard, focus on other sections. Cube counting, hole punch and pattern folding are very easy to improve.
