Dudewhensmydat's Guide to scoring better: GET DESTROYER!!!

I don't know if I could possibly be more succinct or blunt: do yourself a big favor and get Destroyer. Buy it directly from Dr. Romano so that you can have the privilage of calling him to ask questions about things you don't understand...trust me on this one.

Dr. Romano and Nancy are the most chill people I ever met. DESTROYER will help you master concepts that you thought you knew (but didn't really) - it will show you the traps that the DAT sets up for you and it will help you walk around those traps - I was laughing during the exam because I noticed all the traps that Dr. Romano's book mentions; not only that, but DESTROYER explains concepts so well without any superfluous jargon (ahem).

Last time I got owned on the DAT, all I used was the Kaplan Blue book and the Kaplan class - I'm embarrassed for wasting my parents' money on the class, but am thrilled that I did better the 2nd time I took it. If it wasn't for DESTROYER, I am 100% positive my scores would've been significantly lower, especially in General Chem, which has always been a struggle for me.

I did it in about 7 or 8 days...but the more time you have the more you will get out of it.

Awesome job... Way to bring those scores up (especially in Gchem..) it went from one of your lowest scores to your highest.. Good stuff.. Congrats... 👍 And being a second time DAT taker myself, yes revenge is very sweet.. enjoy it cause you earned it..

5 days for me...that was enough time to go through it twice and go over all the stuff i missed and highlighted in the solutions section.

But like lifeisgood said...the more time you put into it, the better. take amsie for instance...2 weeks, right? thats how you should ideally do it.


if you're in a time crunch like lifeisgood and i were, its still possible to get through it in a few days, so don't pass up the opportunity

i will also be retaking my dat...mostly b/c of my pat but i would still like to increase my science and math score. im still thinking about buying the dat destroyer. does relate to the dat? i mean i dont want to buy something that has really really hard problems cuz that would just really frustrate me even more. I was just wondering if the dat destroyer phrases their problems or has similar problems to the real dat. thank you so much

Are the problems in Destroyer hard, YES, if thats going to frustrate you then maybe its not for you. Will it help your science scores, absolutley if your willing to put the time in.. All of us on here wouldnt be preaching the destroyer if we didnt believe in it (and experience it working) first hand. If the pat is your concern, then destroyer is of no help to you, cause it doesnt cover pat, the problems in Destroyer are more detailed than the real DAT, but each question in destroyer covers a few concepts you can (and most likely will) see on the dat... Me and dudewhensmydat are both second timers and our scores speak for themselves... hope that helps...

Man - you guys are making me feel like a million bucks...it still hasn't sunk in yet...I hope that math score won't keep me out of all the schools I applied to. Regardless, it's nice to have scores that actually reflect the hard work I put in this summer. Thanks!
