At first, I want to thank the people who wrote breakdowns and Q&A here. I have been hugely benefited from all these threads.
Here is my score today:
PAT: 24 (97.2%)
QR: 30 (100%)
RC: 24 (94.4%)
Bio: 26 (99.7%)
GC: 25 (97.1%)
OC: 29 (99.3%)
TS: 26 (99.6%)
AA: 27 (100%)
Background: Got my PhD in Neuroscience last year, currently working as a postdoc. I graduate with my BS in Biotech 10 years ago with a GPA ~3.4 (Science: ~3.5).
Preparation: 4.5 months total. I have a full-time job and 3 hrs commute every day. So I only have 2-3 hrs to study on weekdays and 8-12 hrs on weekends.
I went over Chad's video once, Chad's quiz 2x, Cliff's AP Bio 1x, Barron's AP Bio 1x, Barrons flash cards 2x, Destroyer OC/GC/Bio twice, finished first 4 tests in Destroyer Maths. I have also done 10 tests in Crack PAT and Crack Reading. I also did the three Achiever test exams in the last three weekend days.
Achiever prep test scores:
Test 1: PAT 20, QR 29, RC 15, Bio 21, GC 23, OC 21
Test 2: PAT 20, QR 22, RC 19, Bio 18, GC 19, OC 18
Test 3: PAT 21, QR 22, RC 17, Bio 17, GC 19, OC 23
Crack the DAT prep scores:
PAT: 22, 25, 25, 22, 25, 26, 23, 23, 25, 28
RC: 18, 19, 19, 23, 20, 22, 17, 21, 23, 21
In my personal view, Achiever's tests are way harder than the real one, as I have improved 4 to 8 points on each category. However, I have to say that their PAT and RC questions are more similar to the read DAT questions compared to Crack PAT and RC. It also help me to get mentally prepared for the read DAT.
PAT: I got a score very similar to what I got from Crack PAT. I really like their tutorial, it was really helpful.
QR: I have been pretty good at maths. I spend some time to re-memorize those formulas before the exam
RC: RC is my weakspot as you can see from my Achiever scores. I found the styles of articles in the Scientific America website quite similar to the RC passages. I basically read a lot of those SA articles to improve my reading speed. I also found my best strategy is to only read the first sentence of each paragraph to get the main idea and get to the questions.
Bio: I read Cliff's Note once and went to do Destroyer's Bio. I found Destroyer's solution is just as fantastic. Of course, I have to use Google and Wiki to fill the gaps. Barron's flashcards are very convenient to study a little bit here and there whenever I have time.
OC/GC: I used to be good at chemistry, but my chemistry was not taught in English. So I have to relearn the vocabulary. But Chad is making my life much easier.
