DAT done... very depressed

Toothfairy....I am yet to take my DAT...but from all my reading...ur scores are not bad...agreed they are not as high as some of other SNDers... but statistically people who post where are only a small percent of total applicants...
I would say u will get in somewhere... as long as you are willing to apply to several schools and are willing to go to school anywhere in US...

I think u saw my breakdown, because we are basically like "twinners" cuz we both took the test today. I feel the same way, but... at the same time our scores are still considerably above the average.
I feel slightly ripped off GPA-wise because I have done my undergraduate at BYU, which is considered as competitive as the UC pipeline schools. I have had to retake 5 classes, and my GPA is somewhere around 3.1 based on ADSAAS. (Absolutely kills me how bad my freshman year was).
But here's my point. Youre dat is gonna be a good standard they can measure you by. I'd much rather have a top 1/3 percentile DAT score and low GPA, than a top 1/3 GPA and a bottom end DAT score. GPA's are so relative depending on the school. It's gonna come down to personal statements and strong convincing of your situation. But even if this cycle doesnt go well, I think if you do all the stuff to improve your application, and show youre serious about not getting just weeded out by "the process"... you can be a probable candidate eventually.
I say all this because I'm right there along there with ya! Everyone tries to get you to quit, hang in there.

I think you have a great shot this cycle. A 19/21/19 is solid and you have a great Masters GPA.

I'm going to go with these scores for this cycle and see what happens. I was going back and forth about registering in November for a re-take. My advisor told me my TS might compensate for my poor scores in the other sections.
Good luck people and thanks for making me feel better. I was so depressed for the last couple of days. But it's my fault... I didn't prepare for the other sections properly, and it shows. So, I deserve what I scored.

WTS self-confidence, interested in buying some? Man what is it with people being depressed with anything less than a 23AA? Maybe SDN causes people to get self esteem issues or something. You just need to hold your head high and be proud of what you have or else your interview will go bad. You have great DAT scores and a semi ok GPA. Only thing that will hold you back will be that DAT scores take 3-6 weeks to process and get to schools unless some of them accept fax of unofficial scores. Stop being depressed and good luck with everything!

Free life advice here dear - you need to chill out before you get an ulcer. its ok to be determined and have goals, but you have to be happy when you succeed, not cry and then whine to your peer group for validation.
