hi i just took my DATs and i am really sad. i freaked out on biology! it was very very straightforward.

PAT: 21
QR: 16
RC: 18
BIo: 17
GC: 19
OC: 21

TS: 19
AA: 18

my GPA is 3.5/ science is 3.4

please don't sugar coat.
I really would like to know your feedback. I feel i can't retake my test because it will be late Nov and wouldn't that be too late? do you think i can still get in to dental schools? help

I won't sugar coat. Although your stats are not stellar, they are actually decent. Your GPA is around the average and 18/21 is a solid score. It's also a plus that your lowest is in QR, which most schools don't tend to care. I think you definitely have a shot, don't stress too much about it.

I dont think that is bad at all, your GPA is competitive, and your DAT is average. I wouldn't retake unless you get rejected this year, then I would retake b4 the next cycle, but I do think you will be able to get some interviews. Good luck and Good job👍:luck:

thank u for ur input..jigabodo's too..

i'm just afraid that my 17 in bio really really hurt me..I really freaked out for the first 10 minutes. i don't know why.

any more feedback not sugar coated would be appreciated thank u and good luck to anyone else taking it!

You say bio was straightforward though?

That's reassuring at least.

or did u mean eveyrthing besides bio was straightforward?...is that why u freaked out??

u still have a shot, since you have a high gpa and other soldi scores, but i do think bio is one of the most important scores

gluck!

yes bio was pretty straightforward. about 2-3 random ones in there.

i'm really bummed about the 17 that i got in bio. any other feedback? or words of encouragement..or just the truth?

what did u use to prepare for Bio? word on the street is that its gotten a lot harder..or maybe people seem to be remembering 5-6 tough ones and then falsely claim that the whole section was killer..forgetting that there were in fact about 30 very doable questions. who knows?

i think thats pretty much it. My test had 2-3 wierd ones. Nothing crazy, but it took time to think it throughand eliminate the choices. I dunno, i got a 21 on bio, so maybe i got those ones wrong?

I used:

Barron's notes (AP BIO cliff notes)
dat destroyer
DAT achiever
TOp SCore
and KAPlan course
and crackin the PAT
..and at the end, a bio text book which i should have used over Kaplan course (it's a joke!..only touches broad subjects when really DAT can be very specific)

bio was really fair game. from what i hear schaum's notes are good which i will purchase if i do take the exam over.

i know im bein a little whiney b---ch about the 17 but that is pretty bad right? like if dental school saw TS 19 but then saw the BIO 17 they'd just laugh right? i would!

My buddy has a 3.4 with a 17 bio and has 3 interviews. Not too say that your other stats are identical, but I don't think a 17 bio alone will hold you back.

I meant to ask as well: what were you scoring on CrackPAT?

Calm down, it's pointless to freak yourself out right now when applications are already in. Let the scores speak for themselves. Your scores are not that bad at all, nothing where I would jump out and say re-take it. Give it your all int he rest of your app, and you should be fine. Good luck.

It varied..sometimes i'd get 15/15 in like keyholes and pattern folding then myangles would be 8/15 so it'd drop my score. on average I got about 21 and 23's at first..then i guess i got annoyed it'd be like 18 and 17.

my tip is repetition. for two days i did like cube counting straight until i got 15/15. then the next easiest thing for me i did only pattern folding cuz u start to see the pattern of how u approach certain PAT sections. i figured, the ones i'm good at..i should get perfects in to boost my score.

my hole punching was very similar to crackpat except no half holes =)

good luck

good luck to u in what u have to do next =)
