So I took my DAT on Aug 30th - in Old Westbury Long Island -

It was a very comfortable site, although the noise reducing headphones bothered my ears a bit since I was wearing my glasses but other than that I felt comfortable taking the exam there.

Math - 15 - I hate math - but I tried
Pat- 20
Bio-20
Chem -20
Orgo 20
Reading 19 -

So for the math I used Crack the Math - i'll be honest I was never strong in math - struggled with math all through high school but my score improved as I took more practice tests.

Pat - I used crack the pat and IMPROVED so much. I started by getting 13s and then moved up to 16, and 17s -

Bio - Mainly focused on Destroyer with the use of Cliffs AP Bio for any concepts that I didn't know- which was really tedious but it worked. I also used Sparknotes Bio - helped me pick up on a few terms that I was weak with

Chem & Orgo - Began studying with Kaplan then used Destroyer. Went through Destroyer about 4 or 5 times - I focused on a lot of the calculations, but didn't have to many calculation problems - many concepts.

Last week before my exam I practiced the roadmaps.

Reading - I just wrote down any dates or details or weird terms and noted what paragraph they were in. When asked a question I would look at what I wrote down to find out which paragraph I had to look at - it saved a lot of time since I had enough time to read all the passages and answer all the questions...

So to summarize, I mainly used Destroyer and then focused on concepts that I didn't understand fully by using Cliffs AP Bio - it was short enought but informative enough and I also used spark notes to build my confidence before the exam.

In the beginning I was getting my ass kicked by Destroyer, which made me study even more - so don't get down if you are getting questions wrong - just try to understand why you are getting things wrong.
But what I particulary liked about Destroyer compared to other resources for the Dat was that it explained why the other choices were wrong, which Achiever and TopScore didn't do. So even if I was getting questions wrong, I was still learning more concepts through answer choices and through the discussion of why they are wrong or right.

I have a 3.68 overall, a 3.57 science gpa- bio major- active on campus and off campus
Really would like to go to Arizona (AT Still) or NYU.

I didnt use top score as a full practice test but on achiever I had scores of 17s and 18s in orgo and gen chem and a 16 on bio - which made me really focus on studying for the bio....
