Hi all!! Q's about the dry erase board stuff

- I heard that the marker is an expo dry erase marker, but I was wondering if they give the fine tip or the ultra fine tip? (im praying ultra fine tip!! 🙂)

-i also heard that we get a laminated graph sheet...
*how many of these do we get?
*how big are the graph boxes on the sheet? those really small ones, or
med. size?

-any other suggestions?

Thanks a bunch in advance and an early wish for happy holidays!!!!!🙂

I hope I'm not hijacking this thread from you, fleur531, but I also have a question about these sheets too. How difficult is it to erase the laminated sheets? I went to Staples and had them make up a few blank laminated sheet to practice on. What I've found is they're near impossible to erase. I have to scrub those things like a caveman in order to get the ink off!! Did you run into the same problem with yours?

I took the DAT this past August and didn't find any problem with using the dry erase sheets and markers. Everyone is supplied with two markers (fine tip), two laminated graph sheets, and an eraser. The eraser was able to cleanly remove the marker from each sheet. So, I won't worry at all... best of luck with the DAT.

I found the markers to be a pain during the math section. I basically had 3 dry erase boards , so I had 6 sides to work with, with 2 markers. The markers were fine tip, but not ultra fine. Just learn how to condense notes i guess. The math section was just harder because of the limited scrap space I would say.

i believe the markers are fine tip and you around 3 sheets. The sheets seem to be the kind of graphing paper you used in high school but laminated.

I just took the DAT yesterday. The only thing that sucks about the pens is that your writing gets really "fat" so make sure you dont get a 5 confused with a 4 or something like that. Also after about 4 hours those markers start to smell...can you say headache? Other than that, there werent any problems! Maybe just change your pens during the break. Definitely practice with a whiteboard though!! Good luck!

I took it on 11/27 and talked the lady into pencil and paper. I've heard nightmares about broad-tipped, dried-out markers. not sure why the DAT people decided to switch to dry erase... seems a bit ridiculous

Nah, don't worry about markers 'drying out'. They check them in front of you before you start so you can see they're legit, then if one DOES dry out, you just hold it in the air and they bring a new one within seconds.
There are more important things to stress about.

It was painful for me TOO!!! I personally HATE that idea. I only got 2 markers and 2 laminated sheets. My laminated sheets were really old. The tips were not ultra fine. Can't see what I wrote and the WORST thing for me was it smeered out as my hand were RESTING on it!! THAT was HORRIBLE. Anybody has any idea why they want us to use laminated sheets with markers instead of papers and pencils?? (Traditional ones???)

I received 2 laminated graph sheets (2 sided) and an expo fine point marker with an eraser!!! Sort of hard to take notes during passages bc they are so thick!

it depends on each test center.

i took mine and i asked for fine tip markers. they also gave me 4 laminated graph sheets. so i had one specifically devoted to formulas. it was pretty easy to erase but when you leave the marker on too long, it dries and thus its very hard to erase it.
