DAT Fee Waiver

So, I asked the ADA for a DAT fee waiver application almost 2 weeks ago and I haven't received it yet. I emailed them about it and they said they are not giving any more of those for this year so they could not re send me another one. Has anyone been through this too? thanks!

I sent mine in last Monday. Called today and they said exactly what you heard. I think maybe we still have a shot cos ours was in about two weeks ago so just wait till you get the letter back.

So you actually received the application for the fee waiver? that's what I have not received so I have not even been able to apply for it.

I too requested a partial fee waiver on Feb 1, 2013 and received an email saying they mailed the application packet out on the same day. Two weeks later, I still don't have it.

I requested mine that day too. I don't know what is going on, I am afraid it got lost in the mail or something.

I just spoke with someone from the DAT testing office about the fee waiver, the person who took my information and claimed he mailed it the same day was not in. His supervisor told me they have been out since January. I asked her then why the heck would the rep say he mailed it out on the same day of my written request if they were already out. She just told me to call tomorrow when he'll be back in the office. She did' say it could have been lost in the mail. I highly doubt everyone's packet has been lost in the mail. SMH Shady stuff.

This is just weird. I expected a better service from the ADEA. 😡

This whole Partial Fee Waiver thing is crazy. The guy finally came back to work and I explained to him the situation and then he proceeded to tell me two different stories, 1. it was probably lost in the mail and 2. we are out of partial fee waivers for the year. This morning I received an email from the guy stating:

Please see below in regards to the 2013 DAT fee waiver packet that was mailed to you.


We regret to inform you that we have exceeded the number of DAT fee waivers available for 2013. You may submit a standard DAT application through the http://www.ada.org/dat.aspx web site.

If you would like to take the DAT in 2014 please email a fee waiver request, including your mailing address, to [email protected] in the first week of December of 2013 and the fee waiver packet will be mailed to you. Please note that you cannot submit an electronic application if you intend on requesting a fee waiver in the future.


Now the first email stated it had been mailed out on February 1, 2013 at 113pm. I'm not upset over not getting the waiver, I'm upset because I was lied to and I believe in being accountable. I sent them an email back letting them know how the way this was handled showed lack of professionalism and integrity and how I expected more from an agency affiliated with the ADA. I'm done.....over it.
