DAT Finished!!! advice please?

Just took my DAT today. I studied really hard all summer and was very nervous today. But it's finally ALL OVER. Here are my scores:

PA 21 (93.9%)
QR 22 (94.2%)
RC 19 (53.9%)
Bio 21 (91.8%)
GC 20 (80.9%)
OC 20 (80.9%)
TS 20 (85.8%)
AA 20 (85.1%)

Didn't exactly KILL the dats, but I'm definitely satisfied. It's overall better than any practice test I've taken. And I'd HATE to even THINK about going through this again.

I took the Kaplan course, used Schaum's, Destroyer (I recall a few q's on the real thing), and Achiever.

My grades are a bit on the low side:

GPA: 3.289 at UCLA
sGPA: ... not sure, but lower.

Anyone out there have similar scores and gpa as mine?!! How's it lookin? I'm applying next year. Please, I'd really appreciate any advice, I don't really know where I stand.

Last but not least, much thanks to all the SDNers out there! Seriously, this place is priceless. I don't know what I would've done without. And if anyone has questions for me, I am all open. Thanks guys.

WOW, that's all I'm saying ahah. Sign up for AADSAS and see what kind of things you'll need to fill out in the future, so you'll be prepared for next cycle. Once AADSAS reopens for the next cycle apply right away as early as possible and you'll get many interviews.

I took the Kaplan course and continued studying maybe 1.5 months thereafter. I seriously didn't remember any of my sciences when I started studying, I got a 13 AA on my diag!! But that's probably meaningless.

So yea, it took me a while.

IMO you're good to go

Well done, now you have a bunch of time off, get started on your application, i.e. Personal statement, LOR. You want to submit your application the first day that aadsas opens, usually May 15 or so, so that you can maxmize your chances of gtting an eary interview/acceptance.

I think that ur scores are great. Look at them, u do not even have a section below 19. I felt little bit sorry about ur GPA. To be realistic all UCs are challenging. Do not be discouraged. But even ur gpa is ok for so many shools. I am sure that u will get interviews from many schools. U r done 👍

Thanks for the encouraging comments! And also some great advice. I figured the UC's will be tough, but I don't mind goin elsewhere. In fact, I kind of wanna get out of Cali and see what it's like 🙄. Just hope I can afford it..

Oh yea? Congrats. I'm a senior myself. What are your plans for now? Any chance you're taking a year off? I've been wondering what I should do for mine. Maybe post-bac to up my grades somehow.

My GPA is about the same and I have a lower DAT score. The only difference is that I have over 15 years in the dental field. I can only say there is not much you can do about the past. The grades/transcripts will follow you. From here it is all about what sets you apart from the rest and any experience you can gain in the field, if you have not already. Good Luck!!

nice solid scores, and although you may think your gpa is low, once some schools see ucla you should have no problem. assuming you have a well established resume with experience and such. but i wish you the best of luck! definitely send your stuff as soon as i the application becomes available. im doing the same thing, waiting til next cycle cause i have a few more semesters left. however, i didnt do as good as you so im definitely doing a retake, maybe next time my numbers will look more like yours. got any advice for gchem cause i suck at it?

Yeah I graduated this summer. So this following year I'm just taking classes at the community college. Theres actually a pre-req or two from certain schools that want a little more that I need to take (physiology, microbio). Also I took first quarter biochem, and one of the school i applied to wanted 2 quarters or a semester.

Man, where are all these people getting 20+ on the RC section? According to those percentiles, almost half do. It's ridiculous...
