Just finished...disappointed. Studied on and off the whole summer. I am gonna have to take a year off after I get my bachelors I guess cause I know these scores will probably not get me anywhere this late, plus I probably didn't make the cut off for bio anyway. Planning on retaking it sometime in january or feb. hopefully winter break is enough time to review for bio and math which I bombed...anyways here is the breakdown

AA-18
TS-18

Bio 15------no idea what happened, Iam a bio major to. Most of the questions I had never seen and honestly studying probably helped me for at most 10 questions on this section. Questions were pretty broad, nothing detailed from what I remember. Couple of gimmies from here to there but thats about it. I mainly concentrated on Kaplans subject tests/practice exams...basically went through all of em about 4-5 times, reading all the explanations but that wasn't much help. Also did questions from campbell book. Did not read cliffs bio cause I thought I knew most of the bio stuff pretty well...apparentely not.

Chem 18-------Half concepts half calculations. Did bio and ochem first so I ran out of time for this section and left like 3 blank. Nothing too hard, couple of confusing questions here and there but I think Kaplan subject tests/practice exams prepare you well for this.

Ochem 27----Used kaplans online stuff for this again. Also went through Destroyer once but referred to the roadmaps a few times. There was a good amount of reaction questions and I also got 3 or 4 nmr + ir questions.

PAT 17---I am not good at this but practice did help a lot. Used kaplans online stuff plus CDP 5 test. Keyholes were hard, about the same as kaplans and harder than CDP. TFE wasnt that bad, CDP level. Angles weren't as hard as CDP, Hole punching was easier than CDP, and Pattern folding was about the same.

RC 19-----Thought I did better. Had floating bridges, spine...ran out of time and left couple of questions blank again.

QR 14----didnt study for this that much but didn't expect to this bad. I have done so many practice exams and I can't believe I got caught up on some problems and ended up wasting so much time...basically had like 12 problems left with like 5 minutes to go. Only used Kaplans online stuff: workshops/subject tests/practice exams.

Overall, the test isn't that bad. Don't get stuck on questions you're not sure about and waste time. Didnt expect to get such a low score on bio, math score was a little more expected though. I was going to apply this cycle but I didn't do as good as I was hoping for and I know most schools have cut offs for bio/qr so I am just giong to retake and apply in june next summer. Also I was wondering if schools look at both DAT scores/take the best scores from each?
