So I take my DAT this Friday and was wondering if anyone who already took the DAT or is really good with this section had any advice?? I feel pretty confident on all the other sections after going over BootCamp and Destroyer but the Gen Chem section has always been my weakness since there is tons of formulas to know and concepts as well. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I've heard to really focus on concepts and periodic trends. Sorry I can't offer more than that but every DAT is different and that's all I can safely say not having taken it myself. Freezing point, boiling point and Boyle's/Charle's law seem to be pretty common though.

What resources are you using? I'm finding that I'm running low on resources fast for genchem. I've already run through destroyer a few times and all of DAT genius's tests. I'm saving bootcamp for last. Scared there will still be holes in my knowledge.

First off, chill man! I see you on here all the time and can tell you are already well prepared and are one of the ones who will miss none or only a few questions on each section. Second off, I went through Chad's videos, Bootcamp and Destroyer. That's all. I think what separates me and you though is that I look up to you guys and will be happy with a 20, you want a 30! Being a perfectionist means you will never feel ready, but I think you could take the test tomorrow and easily hit a 25AA+. Just keep up what you're doing and I think you'll be just fine. Just don't apply to the same schools as me... 😉

We are in the same boat. 🙂 If you don't do a breakdown please PM me how you did so I can adjust accordingly.

Will do, do you happen to know where I can find all the reagents to know for OChem so I can make flash cards out of them? I feel like going over them at night will get them stuck in my head lol

Never said I wanted a 28! But doesn't hurt for us to aim high. And no I'm missing a few here and there on practice tests even after doing all the resources most people use, so I want to improve a little bit more. For some reason there isn't as much stuff to do on genchem compared to the other sciences, so I'm running out of my practice material fast. How are you studying Chad's notes? I find rereading to be a pretty inefficient way but I am not sure how else to approach them.

Do you have access to Chad's videos? He has a great pdf of them.

Taking his quizzes all at one time, like 300 problems at once, 50 a day. They are random and Chad has some tricky problems like exceptions to general rules so I think they are excellent practice. Especially if you don't know what type of question to expect.

I think he reuses them. I've done 2-3 rounds and it's always the same questions showing up :/

If you have went through them all 3 times then I really don't know what else to tell you. You're way more prepared than you think. Remember that practice tests like to test a bit of everything so just hope that the ones you're missing aren't on the DAT, since the DAT can be lopsided towards certain topics. 🙂

I think what really makes me nervous is the fact that there are so many versions. People are using very similar materials on this forum but scoring in a pretty wide range. Of course everyone's backgrounds are different, but, from what I've read on breakdowns, some people's exams mirror destroyer+bootcamp very closely while others are completely different. That's why I'm trying to spread my study material a bit farther than the standard destroyer/bc/chad combo.
