Whenever i encounter some multiple choice questions (throughout my entire life)

i developed some guessing techniques.. but i dont know if this will also work for DAT lol

for example,

answer choice is

a)
naïve B cells -> antibodies -> plasma cells -> mature B cells
b)
naïve B cells -> plasma cells -> mature B cells -> antibodies
c)
naïve B cells -> mature B cells -> plasma cells -> antibodies
d):
mature B cells -> plasma cells -> naive B cells -> antibodies
e)
mature B cells -> antibodies -> plasma cells -> naïve B cells

like this.

then i just get rid of d and e, since majority of choices start with "naive B cell"
then i compare other options..

again the majority of choices end with "antibodies"
so that makes me think that its one of b,c,d... for the answer
but since i got rid of d,

it is going to be b or c

from here, i just make best guess i can or maybe look at other options

look at 3rd one,..plasma cell is in a,c,e
so that makes me think its either one of those

but since i narrowed down to b or c

i guess to C and it is correct

i know it is super wild guess
and i assume that the test giver is trying to trick us by giving us very similar answer choices....
i often do this when i have no idea or something like that.

will this DUMB technique might work for DAT as well?

doing destroyer or other test prep,
i guess i could narrow down to maybe 3 answer choices based on this weird technique
but i dont know if i can apply this to DAT (only when i have to take wild guess)

what do you guys think?

I don't think it works ALL the time but if you have NO clue then it can be a good technique imo.
For instance, idk how similar CDP would be to the actual PAT section, but there were couple of questions where angle ranking choices were like a) 1234 b) 1324 c) 2134 d) 1423 something like this and the answer was C.

I was just using this technique for angle ranking.

Worked for me so far and it helped me go faster than trying to figure out the smallest and largest myself.

it works for pat because angle differences between extremes are obvious. you're selling snake oil OP

I think that this strategy works for CDP but don't get reliant on it might not work on the real DAT. The way they write the questions for CDP angle ranking is a little predictable, and the real DAT isn't quite like that. Most of the Angle ranking on the real DAT was easier than CDP and then there were a few that were way hard. My favorite method is the two ID method...

Are you allowed to use 2 cards and touch the screen ? Or is it highly dependent on the testing center?

They definitely cannot touch the screen, no matter which testing center you're at. I stabilized my elbow on the desk and then held them up in the air without touching the screen. But I only did that for the really hard ones where I couldn't narrow it down. Make sure to test it out on CDP before you try it on the real DAT - some people find it useful and some people don't.

Leaning way back in my chair often helped too. My buddy and I were studying together on one CDP test and the person who was looking over the shoulder of the other one always did better. Then we realized that the distance from the screen was making a difference.

To follow up on TFE, are Kaplans TFE similar in difficulty to real DAT? I've been using line strategies, which makes me feel crack PATs TFE are easy.... But i recall that line strategies don't work so well with Kaplan online problems.
