Hey everyone,

My DAT is in 26 Days and I have a hopeful goal score of around a 21 or 22

I've taken the Kaplan Course and right now am stuck at getting 18s and 19s on practice tests across the board.

Does anyone have any advice to get passed that stage? What should I do? Am i on track to get the scores that I want?

Thanks!

I'm planning on getting DAT Bootcamp:

I did the free practice tests so far and got a 20 on Bio, 18 on GC, 17 OC, 17 PAT --> what can i do to be most successful preparing for the DAT in the next 3 weeks?

Sunshine, from my research, a lot of people on SDN will tell you that unless you have a really good science background, Kaplan is unfortunately not complete enough to prepare you for the DAT. Sorry to tell you this, but I read so many bad reviews of Kaplan that I avoided it in my study plan.

Most of the people here on SDN who have done really well on the DAT do self-study. Many people have posted "breakdowns" of how they prepared for the test to get great scores: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/threads/ultimate-breakdown-collection.992975/

Right now, what I would do is start a very rigorous 2-week review plan that covers the following material:
Chemistry: Chad's video lectures for the DAT ($115): used by HUNDREDS of people here to get a really concise review of GenChem and OrgoChem. It's got legendary status here and is by far the best investment you'll make for chemistry reviews. You find these videos on coursesaver.com.
Biology: Cliff's AP Biology ($10): Cliff's will cover most of what you need and many people agree it's just thorough enough to be effective review material.

Then, you can use the following material to practice:
Overall Practice: DAT Bootcamp ($97): This is the best practice material out there for almost all sections, and the PAT practice is great.

Look at the attached study schedule to see what a 2-week review of Bio, Gen Chem, and Orgo Chem looks like. It takes discipline but it's definitely doable. This is the schedule I used to get a 24 aa/25 ts/26 pat.

Kaplan in IMO is only there for an introduction to the DAT (won't get you a score above 20). As Hayang said, self study. I'd recommend focusing on your gchem/ochem as those will be the easiest to improve quickly.

Chad's is a great resource for this. Learn the concepts rather than calculations.

Just to give you some confidence!
BootCamp Scores
Before Chad GChem: 19
After Chad GChem (2 weeks to do all quizzes 2-3 times and all videos): 22, 27, 25

still working on my ochem! I'll update in a week or so

Oh, bio will be harder to improve your scores drastically but I'd still give it a good gloss over with Feralis and Cliff's
