So... One week and I am nervous. Too nervous actually.

Before anything, here is my Raw 2007 ADA exam:

Bio: 17 (29/40) This section threw me off, because it was such a simplistic questions that made me over complicate and asked questions on my weaker biology portion(taxonomy)

G.C: 18(23/30).. I am just going to review what I got wrong and improve on it.

O.C: 20 (25/30).. Just review my notes. won't focus too much on it anymore.

PAT(from DAT BootCamp): 17.. I know DAtBootcamp is a lot harder than actually DAT, but I need to work on my keyhole and TFE skills... I need to start using CRACk the DAT PAT..

Reading(from DAT BootCamp): 20 (35/50)... Surprised me. Finally found a technique that works I guess.

QR:17 (25/40)... I need advice on how to improve. I am just going to memorize formulas and know how to do permutations and combinations. Also re-do the ones I got wrong on my 2007 section.

Any advice on my sciences and Mathematics?
Opinions that I should be ready by next week on tuesday to take this exam?

Thank you in advance!

Hi there!!

Have you considered taking the ADA 2009 DAT in addition to the 2007? It may be a great opportunity for you to test your QR. It was much more challenging than the 2007, but it'll help you build up stamina and time management.

For QR, especially if math isn't a strong subject for you, you really need to focus on maintaining a good pace over the next week. Even after doing multiple Math Destroyer exams, nerves got to me during my DAT, and I was going through the questions slower than I would have had I been at home.

My section was very front heavy (seemingly complicated problems scattered among the first 10 or so questions). I tried not to let this freak me out and throw me off. I tried to calm down and realize that my best option was to skip these problems (for now), and continue through the rest of the QR to answer what I could. In the end, it paid off. Many of the questions that came later were straightforward and easy to work out. I barely had any time to go back to look over the ones I had skipped, and had to randomly choose answers for around 3 questions.

For the sciences, especially the chemistries, the level of difficulty for Chad's Quizzes were on point. When I took the 2007 for practice, I thought the sciences seemed straightforward. As it turns out, compared to the actual DAT, the sciences on the 2007 are slightly easier. If you'd like to build a good base to build up on, you should consider re-watching Chad's chemistry series over the next week (if time permits). They were the best resource for me considering I limited on time.

I only dedicated a few days towards PAT. It took 2 Bootcamp practice tests for me to get a feel for each section. Then by the 2009 ADA DAT practice exam, I had the concepts down. You'll naturally build up speed and ability to see things a little faster. I don't think it's necessary to dedicate a huge amount of time to try to improve your abilities here. Just do a couple more practice exams. The PAT difficulty on my exam was similar to the difficulty of the 2009 ADA DAT.

You're going to be fine!

Oh! I found Chad's Videos for the QR section to be very helpful as well.

My back ground in math wasn't strong at all, so I started there, and it really helped me smoothly transition to the higher difficulty problems in Math Destroyer.

Thanks so much! And yeah I ordered the 2009 ADA version as well. Should be getting it this week. And Ill take your advice on it as well! Ill have to reorder the chad's videos I guess and quizzes, but that was very helpful! Did you believe bootcamp was a good representation as well for general chemistry? And for the math, Ill def need to focus on how on specific questions efficently

The biggest thing I took away from Bootcamp was timing. Firm time limits along with a higher level of difficulty prepared me for the actual DAT. No matter what, you'll probably walk into the Prometrics room feeling panicked, BUT, once you've found your groove, all the training from your hard work going through Bootcamp and other practice exams will take over and push you forward. As far as difficulty goes, question types/concepts covered were similar, but more difficult than the real thing.

I don't think the 2007 was representative of the real thing. 2009 is more representative. If you want to really improve your scores, Destroyer is the answer. Know every question inside and out. Then, practice your timing with Bootcamp. Best way to improve math score is Math Destroyer and Destroyer QR. I recommend doing 40 questions of Destroyer QR in 40 minutes (yes, less time than the real thing), after a long day of studying to build your stamina and time management. I felt that Math Destroyer was great for learning but Destroyer QR was more representative. Good luck!
