Hey everyone!

I'm taking my DAT in a week and I was wondering if anyone who has taken the test already could tell me what I should be doing this last week?

I was planning on going over the destroyer and DAT Q Vault questions, reviewing notes, and just practicing with all the sections.

I am really worried about the reading section. No clue what to do about that. I've been getting 20's on the Crack DAT Reading, 21 or 22 on Kaplan if I really try. I think I got a 22 on the third TopScore exam's Reading section.

If you've still got some practice tests to take, I'd take those within the next few days. It may just be my personal preference, but I didn't feel too comfortable taking practice tests before my exam...especially achiever...much too discouraging. For the 2-3 days leading up to my exam, I just went over destroyer. I had been practicing the PAt an QR all along, so I didn't study any of that the days prior and instead focused on the sciences. My line of reasoning was that I wanted to get through the sciences feeling confident, leaving me ready to tackle the other sections in earnest.

By the looks of it, you're set for RC. Getting 20's on Crack DAT Reading is quite impressive! I got an 18 on the one that I took and didn't take any of the other 4 😛 So don't worry about RC.

Your plan of reviewing destroyer and datqvault sounds good to me. My philosophy was to go into the exam thinking of nothign but the sciences. Once you make it out of that section feeling good about your performance, the others come much more easily imo.

GL!

Concentrate on concepts.
Go over the solutions in the destroyer and understand them. Do a test or 2

Good luck

I didn't use Destroyer but I do recommend doing more problems...from different sources also. If you get them wrong, review them, then reinforce them from your notes or materials you used to prepare the subjects (make some connections to the knowledge you already attained).

RC...was my weak point. I think if you are getting 20+ on CDR, you are pretty much ready since people have been saying there are more tone questions on the CDR than the real tests. On the real test, I didn't find a lot of tone (maybe 3-4 per passage). Most of them can be answered if you read through everything and know where the key points are located.

Best of luck!

What I did in the week before my DAT was take two more full length DAT tests, and then the rest of the time I just reviewed stuff. I suggest you take the 2009 ADA test because I was also freaking out about RC like you, but after I took the 2009 ADA test, I realized the ADA DAT reading section is way easier than Kaplan reading or topscore or achiever. On the real exam, the RC section was very similar to the 2009 DAT reading section, I got a 24 on the real thing. 🙂

Yeah I am planning on taking the 2009 ADA exam tomorrow.

I have done Kaplan exams and I got 21,21,21,23,21 on them.

My scores on TopScore were: 21,21,25

Other than that I have been working on the destroyer.

I feel like I've forgotten a lot of biology because I left for NY for a week. I don't know what to do about that at this point. I guess just read over all of my notes?

I don't think destroyer bio is needed. I looked at it but didn't use it. I just don't see how it is worth it to store that much random info for maybe a pt better on the bio section of the test.
