Planning to take DAT take in June, so I have from now till June to study and ace the exam

To be honest, I am procrastinating on studying for this exam, but also confused with all the subjects to learn (something I better improve on if I get accepted to dental school)

Does anybody have a schedule that helped them study in a two-month schedule.?
The good news is that my work is off for 2 months (family owned small businesscompany) and I wont be taking the rest of my bachelor degree electives till after the DAT. So I cant use the "didnt have enough time to study excuse"

any suggestions of methods, schedules, and study guides would be awesome. I already have the 2012 DAT Destroyer with me

Theres a stickied thread on the top of this forum. It was a little overkill for me, but a lot of people have said it was a great plan. You're looking at about 8 hour days for 2 months though

8 hour days? Not likely necessary. I've ready at least 10 plans that have people doing half that over 5-6 days per week and 2-3 months and doing just fine. I'm running a 3-hour-per-night 4 nights per week, and 5 hours on Sunday plan (I work full time) and will test on July 11th. That's 15+ weeks, or roughly 285-ish total hours in the books. If I don't score at least a 20 on everything, I'll be sorely disappointed.

I think the key is consistency - don't halfway do it, and when you set a schedule, stick to it. Also, when doing computer studying, don't fall victim to the urge of browsing the internet! 🙂

Yeah I did about the same as you did and I got all 20+ other than a 19 PAT. I was just referring to the stickied thread that a lot of people use.

is it just me or is the Organic Chemistry section on the DAT Destroyer overkill?

Either that or I just seem to have forgotten the more specific parts of Organic Chemistry. I'll be honest, ochem is definitely my achilles heel, I have asked ppl for advice on a good study aid for ochem and they're recommended Solomons, but I am not sure if I have enough time to cover that whole textbook again

any suggestions for a good ochem book. The actual DAT maybe easier but it could also be harder, so I want to have all my bases covered.
